Evoscan Issues - Thread Failed During Processing
Okay, long story short.... my laptop crashed so I picked up a new one with vista (old one had XP).
I got everything off my old laptop and got this new laptop ready for tuning, however I am getting the following error on Evoscan 2.5 and can't do anything with the program. I basically have to use the task manager to force quit the application.
Any ideas on what this error is?

I switched the security settings and i also installed 2.6 beta8. I will probably try the permission thing and go back to 2.5 since serial logging with the WB is not working on beta8 yet and there isn't much tuning I can do without knowing the AFR.
Thanks for the replies, I will reply with an update if 2.5 works with the different security setting.

I had the same problem and I'm not computer savy so somone that knows about computers went into alot of different folders giving permisions and stuff and go it to load with no problem
now when I try to acutally log it says connected but nothing is acutally logging ie the RPM is at 0 and stuff like that nothing is working any ideas??
sorry if this is a thread hijack but it did have something to do with the same issue and I didn't want to create another thread and create more clutter

this problem is likely only on windows Vista due to its default restricted file access system. To resolve it; assuming that EvoScan is installed in directory c:\program files (x86)\evoscan\evoscan 2.5, please try the following steps:
0. Remove the short cut to EvoScan from your desktop if it's there.
1. Open windows explorer and navigate to that directory above.
2. Right click evoscan.exe to popup a menu and select "Properties". A dialog should be show up.
3. Select the tab "Compatibility" from the dialog and check "Run as Administrator". Click OK to close. See attached image for detail.
4. Right click on EvoScan.exe again and select "Send to desktop" so that you easily access it without navigate to the windows explorer again.
