Not only is a tune very difficult to detect for the average Mitsu dealer but it's easily changed back and forth between tuned and stock in a few minutes or less.

get either a turboback or a catback (personally tbe is worth it) and a mbc and then tune it. you WILL be happy. no exceptions

No need for a MBC. Just buy the properly sized boost pill, retune the boost tables and let the ecu do all the boost control.

The stock boost tables have the boost tapering off by 3 psi or so (don't remember exactly) by redline. By retuning the boost tables in the ecu in conjunction with the properly sized boost pill, you can maintain a constant boost level all the way to redline. That 3 psi should be worth roughly 30whp at redline.

Definitely don't sleep on the TBE. That makes a hellafied difference. If it's money you're worried about, which in my case that's what it normally is. I would go with the TBE and wait until I got a mod that was tune worthy. With the TBE you'll definitely feel the difference and won't need a tune.

Wrong you need a tune with a TBE or you'll hit fuel cut. TBE and tune FTW!

yes, but i have an mbc so he should have one too!

j/k. whatever is up to you, OP. i personally would go mbc for easiness but for better control...ecu controlled boost is the way to go. im just too lazy to do all that.

When you throw on a TBE the car overboost's. I would know because I did it and had to get tuned because the car was over-boosting. Dont misinform this guy with nonsense of putting on a TBE and no tune.

This is NOT correct information. You NEED a tune with a TBE. A coworker of mine had a TBE and BR airfilter with no tune for a while and was detonating. He didn't know it. Ended up sucking a plug into the head. Had to replace the head.

Definitely get a tune with a TBE. Better safe than sorry.

If you're going to spend the $$$ to get a tune, you might as well get the TBE and boost controller.

A tune - 20whp
A tune, TBE, and BC - 60whp+

It's a no brainer for the little extra $$$. You might as well make it worth your while. You won't regret it.

I didn't need one. In fact I didn't start hitting boost cut in my car until I installed a hard pipe intake and cams in my car.

Point being...get a TBE and if you need a tune then get one, if not then....get one anyways, but you don't always HAVE to.
