My Dynojet vs Mustang comparison... NOT a test

I went to the CBRD Dyno day about a month ago and put down in my opinion great numbers for my set up. 481 whp and 386 tq at 30 psi on my gauge. It was a cool day that was great for big numbers. I wanna say in the 50s when I got on the Dyno. They dont run any weather correction or anything like that. What you make is what you make.

The specs of the car are.

BR tubular HTA82 kit with the PTE .63 housing
BR UICP, 1g valve with gus mod/ stop leak kit
Custom LICP
AMS standard IC
Dejon 4" MAF intake pipe with AEM adapter with Dryflow filter
Greddy Race Full Ti with test pipe
Comp 272 cams
PTE 880s and Walbro pump (maxxed out)
and some ARP headstuds
I think thats every power mod on the car.
Stock Block, Head, Valve springs, Intake mani, and Tb with a small shaft seal leak(will be fixed soon)

Flashed and wrenched by me on 100 Oct Sunoco GT260

Since I took the day off work I decided spur of the moment today to go to AR Fab for some base pulls on their Dynojet. So even tho it was cold as hell outside today they have their dyno completely inside with the door down with an exhaust hose. The temp on the Dyno was 73* according to the Dyno sheet.

1st pull my boost dropped a pound from the road to 29.5psi= 531whp 436 tq
2nd pull I turned my MBC up a whole turn to 31psi= 549whp 450tq
3rd pull I wanted to try a 4th gear pull to see how it would affect the #. well during spool up I get a few knock counts that Ive never had before and told them to lift. They were willing to do another pull for me. But I was happy with the 549.1 whp and said F it and called it a day. All of those pulls were on STD correction. I asked what the numbers would have been uncorrected and they dropped 4 whp. So I got the print out in STD.

I will try to get he Dyno sheets up IF requested but I dont know how Im gonna do it yet. Any and all comments welcome. yes this was all on the same tune that hasnt been touched or anything. 11.8 AFR at peak torque tapers to 11.5 at 8K.

Thanks for looking.

Cool. SO you're tuned for boost up to 31psi? or you just turn the knob and hope?

I retuned the car for. My fuel maps arent much different from my pump map. But my timing map is significantly different. The car was road tuned before both times on the Dynos. The tune was never touched either time on the Dyno.

If I just turned the boost up on my pump map I think I lose atleast 20-30 hp.

so the difference is not the 549, it's somewhere between the 531 and 549 based on your boost.

He is not tuned for 31 psi, he is tuned for two safe runs before knocking at 30 ish psi.

awesome stuff...

i was cold and chilly on the Dyno day, we were all impressed with what everyone made...

had the temps been the same, it may have been another 10-15whp difference...

still mega numbers

Wow I just saw this thread was moved. I thought it got deleted. haha. Actually the difference was 481 to 549 with the same boost readings.. They were both at 30 psi on my gauge and how I drive the car on the road. When I say 31 psi that was what the map sensor actually read not the gauge. When the same MBC setting was used on the dynojet, it dropped due to less load on the dyno. But in the end it not a true test due to them being almost a month apart with a small variable, a MBC instead and EBC to maintain it constantly.

I can run the car on this tune up to 33ish psi with out knock in 3rd but not in 4th gear 31-32 is all it will take. I try to run 30 flat for safety.

PS Im also comparing teh boost difference from a Autometer gauge that I see on the road to a MAP sensor thats built into the Dynojet.
