CBRD BBK awesomeness!! 93 octane
Before I babble on I just wanted to thank CBRD for putting together a very solid turbo that surpssed my expectations, Krazy House Customs for use of their facility, and Mat for chosing me to tune his car.
First, please do not compare these numbers to other dyno's, this dyno reads lower then any other dyno I have seen or heard of. A stock evo will NOT break 200 on this dyno..Also keep in mind my car ran 11.60@117.8 making 357hp here and that was in an overweight MR shifting to 5th..Now that that is out of the way I will give you guys some details. I forgot my zip drive today so for now all I have is pictures from the monitor.
Mods:
05 EVO 8 SSL
CBRD BBK Full (burger king turbo)
Buschur FMIC with piping
Forge RS BOV
RC 1000cc injectors
MBC
Perrin turboback with ported megan 02
Apexi intake with induction cover
GSC 272 cams
BR/AWD motorsports ported stock ex. mani.
93 octane pumpgas
First pull was on my base map running 19 psi..Put down 300whp which amazed me..After setting the boost and AFR roughly the car was making 340whp with only 9 degrees of timing up top, at this point I was just in awe what kind of power she was making, knowing there was plenty left on the table..After the fine tuning she put down 372 and 370 back to back. This may not seem like alot o most of you but I knew in my mind that this car would trap 120mph at this point on pump gas which is pretty amazing in my book.. I decided to leave it the way it was at that point since I did not feel comfortable running more agressive timing and Mat agreed, even though the pulls were knock free and running a comfy AFR..
I talked Mat into letting me do a 1/4 pass on the dyno with a weight setting of 3325 which I think is very close..It was my first time doing the 1/4 mile on the dyno so I was a bit nervous. I ended up spinning (smoking) the snow tires and I short shifted all of the gears..She put down an 11.6@118 with a 1.8 60-foot time! Had I driven better the times wouldhave gotten mch better, you can see in the video how early I was shifting

I know there has been some discussion between the BBK and the FP green, so I have also overlayed a previous car that I had tuned 3 weeks ago (not years) with similar mods, and the same tuning principle. Both cars were running the exact same peak timing @ 7k, both are running the same AFR, and both cars are knock free. I am truly an unbiased individual that can appriciate results, and being that I tuned both cars I would like to see them both do equally as well. But this time the BBK wins So here are MY BBK vs. FP green FACTS..
Notable differences on the green equipped car:
GSC S1 cams
Buschur ported TB
Smaller inectors
Invidia 3 inch 02 housing

CBRD is a great shop and great guys. The BBK has been on my wish list for sometime now. Hoping for a nice birthday present to myself come late Feb. Last year it was a set of volks, now something a bit more fun

Pete, your buddy Dino called me yesterday and told me you just tuned a evo w/ BBK full. I am so glad you did, b/c I always wanted to get BBK and I told Dino all about it. Is Dino convinced that he'll pick one up now? b/c I know I am!
Question for you Do you have hard time idle the 1000cc injectors? b/c CBRD told me they like to stay with 780cc

780cc is fine for pumpgas..We went with the 1000cc because we were planning on doing E85..I think the 1000cc should be JUST enough with this turbo..Idle is just dandy, it's is up to your tuner to scale them properly and make make sure the MAS is also happy as well, then the car should idle nice..
I was talking with your man Dino last night as well, trying to get him to come throw his car on the rollers, mabye I can convinc him to buy this turbo, but the RED always makes it a hard choice
