Wow, I thought it had been quiet around here

So Mike@AWD, DynoFlash, and Dave Buschur have all tested the V2 versus a run of the mill Buschur ported and found there was no difference? YIKES

I think what the test shows more than anything is that flow benches are more or less useless information when it comes to dealing with flow compounded by pressure.

Very interesting, although I dont know if I would go so far as to say flow benchs are providing useless information... it did not see to say much here though huh.

evorace, unfortunately I have to agree with you. The flow bench hasn't shown me much other than maybe the total CFM looks to make more power at high RPM.

I tested the v2 vs standard buschur ported except it was 1 day to the next and it made 712whp w/ Buschur Ported and 711.9whp with v2.. I asked dave if he had ever seen a car not gain power and he said he had not tested it against his stocker ever,.,. I told him he should try it but he said he didnt think the ported stocker could keep up.. I never went back to the ported and stayed on the wilson since i paid for it and it was on the car and didnt seem to hurt anything..

Yes, Mike is telling you guys the facts. I didn't believe him or Al when they told me the results they found. Big mistake on my part.

No, Mike, balancing the runners appears to have hurt the performance of the intake actually. The one with the worst balance had the best performance from low end to 8,000 rpm.

It seems that is almost a good idea to just clean up the casting on the inside of the manifold and port match it. I guess mitsu did not do that bad of a job on the design of the manifold.

Dave....What do you think about having the fins in the plemun, between the runners, cut down? Does making the runners shorter, and the plenum larger really make a large difference?

Cutting the dividers down will increase flow on SOME of the runners in the stock manifold but not all of them. In order to increase flow on the #1 runner you have to do some welding on the intake manifold itself. When you are all done with it and you dyno it against the stock intake that is just port matched nicely on both ends and cleaned up the stock one beats all your hard work anyway.

The V2 has the runners cut down to 6.5 inches and the one we cut down went down to about 9". The one we cut down also had the best balance from runner to runner. Both of them got whooped by the stock one with just mild porting done to it.

It's going to be difficult for us to make an intake to outperform the stock one, maybe impossible.
