Race gas full time?
Ok so today I was with my buddies who all have SRT-4s and they showed me a gas station thats prolly 15 mins away that sells 110 octane fuel. Now my Evo isnt a daily driver although it could be( i have two cars tho) so i basically drive it on really nice days and when ppl wanna cruise..im thinking about having my car tuned on 110 and using only 110 instead of 93...im expecting to put down about 410whp on 93 octane on a mustang dyno so im guessing with 110 I should be around 430? maybe 450 or does that sound like way too much of an increase just from the fuel?
Im just trying to decide what I wanna do. My internals are all factory basically the only thing ive touched with them would be the cams...im trying to make my car powerful without just destroying my motor right away...any suggestions? could i make 500awhp on 110 and my motor be safe?

Depending on your mods boost lvl etc. maybe 450wheel. Race gas is expensive but well worth the outcome. As far as your motor being able to handle the power...ask sum ppl pushing the block with that much power. I hear It can hold it, but for HOW long is the question.

Yeh well this year ill have:
AMS 35R turbo system
AMS FMIC
AMS upper and lower IC piping
Small Battery kit
Tial Wastegate and BOV(vented to atmosphere)
AEM standalone ECU
Zex/comp cams 272's
DC sports catback exhaust
Koyo radiator
Walboro 255 fuel pump
Manual Boost controller from hallman
STM test pipe
Havent looked into injectors yet gunna talk to emery and figure something out car is going to get started on this weekend
Since I dont drive the car everyday debating on 93 or 110 tune. Ill prolly just run the race gas full time..i dont really drive this thing every day or that much so i wanna enjoy it to the max
im not sure how much boost im thinkin 24psi i think thats what bizaro evo dynoed at and he made 409awhp but i think that was on 93 octane.

you will have long term problems.. especially if you dont drive it all of the time.. its not good to leave regular gas in a tank for prolonged period of times, but hgher octane eats away at your car slowly over time... im sure that if you ask a vendor with a full time track car, they will help you better

im on 93 octane only, and at 28 psi making 479 whp safely. we had quite a bit more room for tuning but decided to stop for reliability reasons for daily driving because i track race the car as well. You should be fine with the selected mods and race gas for numbers higher than mine.

Leaded 110 gas is not like a corrosive wood based alcohol like methanol. If he filles up one weekend, drive it some parks it and does not run the rest of the gas thru it till the following weekend or whatnot... I dont see him having any problems. In fact I have done similar with leaded 112 for a while now and so do many other people who run race gas in their weekend warriors, evos/ mustangs/ fbodies/ muscle cars/ etc you name it.
Of course if you store any gasoline fuel for very long periods of time (like 6+ months depending on climate and how well the tank is sealed), your going to have issues with fuel degrading and eventually geling up. But honestly I dont see that it "eats away at your car" really imo.
