Yes, I agree, with the stock MAF I don't think the pipe will make much difference. The car we gained the power on was an AEM equiped EVO with no MAF already. Those gains were just from going from a 3" pipe to a 4" pipe.

Do you have this datalogged or is this by eye ballin' it? 26 psi @ 4800 rpm in 3rd gear seems odd to me. I would have expected 26 psi to come well after 5000 on a 2 litre / 35r.

Datalogged w/ JDM 3-Bar; I actually checked the logs last night and they are a tad laggier. 20psi @ 4600 rpm and 26psi @ 4900 rpm. A couple things to keep in mind that help my spool right now: tuning on E85 and running less aggressive cams (GSC 264/272's). I can email logs if your interested in seeing data points.

I know the 4 inch intake can work on the stock ECU and MAF, justboosted02 has that setup running on his car. He was worried about idle and such as well, but got it working fine I believe.

Mellon do you think you will try out the new speed density mods for the stock ECU?

I might get around to that eventually but I've got to get this clutch fixed, fuel rail installed and retuned for pump/race gas and go get that 9 second slip. After that I might consider piddling with the speed density/4" pipe to see how much that helps.

I prefer to keep my setup as simple as possible right now so that my customers can follow my path more easily.

Right on I got the speed density patch working properly with the kalvico/AEM 5 bar sensor here not that i'll need the 58psi or so boost limit but it was just fun to mess with.

I got only one lil quirk to work out this guy and I'll post up my settings in the speed density thread. Atm it seems to go rich when doing partial throttle downhill so i think i know what to do to fix it .

Just curious, are you running a built tranny?

I ran the stock tranny up to 600awhp for awhile and it started making noise only after I started power shifting it at the track. I sent it off to Buschur and had he Bushwacker treatment done, it's nice and smooth again. I haven't been back to the track yet.

I noticed this on a stock ECU speed density car a few days ago. Testing with the stock MAF/3" pipe that night we saw 482whp. Taking it off and going to a 4" we were able to make 495 (Dave's 12-13whp). One thing I noticed though is the next day when I went to finish the tune it would all of the sudden accept more timing and a little more boost on pump. It finished off at 510 where before it was knock happy and done at 482-485.

That was a 3582 HTA car btw.

Mellon, what spark plugs have you found to work well with your setup? What about when you were running the HTA3582? Thanks.
