My Buschur Powered FP 80mm Red/E85/Stock ECU Numbers
About a week ago David got a solid tune in on my car on the stock ECU and E85. Over the winter I pulled the engine and had a complete stage 3 build done and upgraded from a FP Green to the new 80mm FP Red. The car went 10.90 @ 126 mph last year and made 411 whp and 422 ft/lbs on the Green and C16. I am hoping to get the car deep into the 10's this year and I feel the new setup will get me there.
I am now running E85 24/7 and man is this stuff is fun! I got so tired of switching maps and draining fuel at the track. Car starts right up and idles like butter even from a dead cold start.
A few interesting things we found that the stock crushed Evo 9 bov was leaking a little and has trouble holding boost when it first comes on. We also were suprised to find out that a very popular name brand manual boost controller was giving us issues at the top of the power band. Boost would fall off hard and start to rise back up again between 6000 - 7500 rpm. David didn't think it was the problem so we swiched it out with one of the BR manual boost controllers and sure enough problem solved. Boost would hit nice and hard and gradually fall off towards the top as it should.
Highest number of the day was 486 whp and 462 ft/lbs. Here is the dyno sheet:
Mod list:
- BR Stage 3 Shortblock 2.0 / 9:1 Compression
- BR Stage 3 Head
- BR Ported/Coated OEM Exhaust Manifold w/ BR Heatshield
- BR SS Coated o2 Housing
- BR 3" Turbo-Back Exhaust w/ No Catalytic Convertor and Muffler Delete
- BR Ported OEM Intake Manifold
- BR 65mm Throttle Body
- BR 2.5" Upper and Lower I/C Piping
- BR Race FMIC
- BR 3" Intake w/ Filter Kit
- BR Mini Battery Kit
- BR Manual Boost Controller
- BR Double Pumper Fuel System
- BR 1200cc Fuel Injectors
- BR 5spd Shifter Bushings
- Forced Performance 80mm FP Red
- Forced Performance High Pressure Actuator
- Forced Performance Oil Feed Line
- Cosworth M2 Mivec Cams (Intake/Exhaust)
- ARP Headstuds
- Bushwacker Transmission w/ Evo 8 Fourth Gear
- Exedy HD Triple Disc Clutch
- BFGoodrich 225/45/17 Drag Radials
- Stock ECU/MAF, Ignition, Suspension
I am sure there are a few small things here and there that I forgot but that list is pretty close. There is still some room to turn up the boost if I want to. I am making a few changes right now and getting rid of some unsprung weight. I might revisit the dyno in a few weeks in hopes of breaking 500 whp.
Thank you David, Dan, Ted, Trent, Nick, and Jarrod for all of your help so far this year. You guys make this hobby so fun to enjoy. I can't wait to get her to the track to let her rip.
Buschur Powa!!

Very impressive powerband indeed. Do you have any plans on going with more agressive cams? All these Reds on high boost seem to be making 350+ tq between 3800-4000rpm. That's pretty close to the stock turbo. That's impressive especially when you making around 100hp more than a stock turbo is capable of. Red+E85. A PERFECT UNION.
