Honestly, if my car hadn't come with an aftermarket FMIC I probably would have left it stock. It's pretty cool to see how many cars constantly make good numbers on the stocker.

My apologies. I had your user name confused with someone else on 880s from a few pages back who was on 93oct. Foot meets mouth!

I agree that you can make good power on the stock FMIC. However, with a good aftermarket FMIC you can up the boost and make even better power since you can actually cool that extra air you're pushing.

I don't know too many people over in the valley, same with Va Beach. I generally stay on this side of the water while down at school.

mj23fe, looks like you chose the wrong set of first mods on a couple of your mods, I don't think the full race header was a good buy at this point in modification; but I digress, you also could have a plan up your sleeve.

A month ago I was at 25* of timing on my stocker. Now I am close to what you are with my red.

Stock turbo's can handle some serious timing with the taper at redline.

Is your 15-16* at redline on the Red that's in your sig? What gas?

I don't think my timing is too aggressive for e85, so there might be more power to be made. Like murlo said the stockers can take a lot.

It has to be on the red, even on pump the stocker would take a bit more than that I think, depending on boost level.

I was able to add even more timing on the stocker than 25* but it stopped making power so we backed it down. Low boost on e85 equals lots of timing potential.

Ya 16* at 8k is my max. Yes it is one the Red. I could take a lot more timing but the tune was very conservative.

I can generally only get 14* at the top on 93 before it starts to knock. This is usually at an AFR of 10.9-11.1

It will depend on a lot of things, but if your boost is higher than that could be why. The 8/9's will hold boost up top a little better than the X's (what i have in case you didn't notice) so that is probably why you can't run as much timing.
