BBK full IX in UK

BBK full IX in UK
After a long time debating about turbo's reading up and working out which would suit my needs I finally decided. My IX is a daily driver and odd track session so driveability was high on the list over peak numbers and with a 6 speed box I was wary of its life span. I had a rough Idea as to what it was making but you can’t beat watching the results on the Dyno and being the first UK IX using a BBK full. After a couple of runs it pushed out 471bhp and 450lbs!!! I decided as long as it made over 460bhp it would have been worth it. The BBK full spools so fast it’s more or less as STD hitting over 2 bar 3300 – 3500 the torque is so drivable to. In Summary it’s an IX turbo that keeps pulling to 7500rpm to say I’m over the moon with the power and the way it drives is the understatement of the year!!!!!
Fueled on Shell V-Power.
The power is so usable i love this turbo!!!!!

Awesome! Only trouble is, I can't make out what the various graphs are is one on high boost, one low boost? One on IX turbo, one on BBK?.....do you have any runs with 1.0CF, and not in shootout mode? That thing spools way quick on your IX, 25psi by 3400rpm! That's freaking awesome!

I don't think there is an ATW graph posted above.
DD is the most popular dyno in the UK. Every DD operator runs their dynos in Shootout mode which is how you are supposed to do it. See all those parameters on the graphs? Do you know why DD operators in the states don't run shootout? Because they fudge their numbers with corrections!
There was some confusion on this board with a DD operator saying when he ran in shootout mode, the numbers were high. This was because he was outputing the "s_hp" reading. In DD, "s_hp" is a flywheel hp estimate. If it says "hp" that is at the wheels. Always look at the horsepower axis to know for sure.
A stock Evo makes about 210 on a DD in shootout mode. In the UK, they have on several different occasions taken an engine from an engine dyno to a DD chassis dyno. Everytime the hp ends up being about 24% less on the chassis dyno.
Man I wish DD operators in the states would get a clue and run in shootout mode. The whole purpose of the mode is to display all the params on the sheet that can effect the output and ensure all DD's read the same!

i'm sure the most on a evo8 with ix turbo running stock head/valves but good exhaust and decat with autronic and a good tune made 447bhp flywheel which is concidered good here on DD
that ran 12.3 qtr with 1.75 60' 112.5mph. was a hot day 26°C

1st Dyno is the BBK full Flywheel power and torque.
2nd graph is my std IX turbo mapped power previously 398 at the flywheel power vs My BBK full
3rd is the BBK full Boost graph and 365 Wheel power
It was in the afternoon about 22/23 degrees and high humidity. Just for the record std IX with decat and air filter mods make 400/410bhp max on std ecu's on Dyno Dynamics.

398hp run is on Stock Turbo 3rd gear
470hp run is on BBK Turbo 4th gear.
that's why it looks like BBK spools at the same RPM as the stock turbo.
Boost peaks at 2.0bar at around 3.6k RPM (at 4th gear) and goes down to 1.65bar at 7.5k rpm

Do you even know WTF Shootout Mode is? Do some reading... the fact is, all the DD operators like DG Motors, The Shop etc have a terrible, terrible history about using corrections and they don't run Shootout Mode because they know you can't fudge the numbers with it.

As the OP said, the bottom boost graph is the only ATW graph posted. In the UK, a common conversion for a DD graph, is 24 % losses. Therefore, 365 atw / .76 = 480 hp at the fly.
To give another example, when people in the UK push the hell out of a stock IX turbo (cams, remap, exhaust, intake, etc), they are lucky if they get 300 atw. Which if you do the 24% losses conversion, is just shy of 400 hp.
So just to be clear, DD in the UK in Shootout mode read LOWER than ANY dyno in the states... be it a Mustang, Dynojet, or jacked up DD which doesn't print the params of the run on the bottom of the sheet like a Shootout graph does.
