Ben, you have never said anything I disagreed with however your tuner and a few others said that 3* at peak torque was as much as was needed and no benefits existed from running more timing and that it was stupid to do so. By reducing the timing to where other suggested was where it should be I not only lost 5% power but 9% tq. That was over 30lb/ft tq through the meat of powerband. If I was on a larger turbo that could keep up that would probably have been over 50whp at 7K rpm.

He gave the timing #'s then states it isnt like he took out 10* of timing. Well 3* at peak tq and 11 out the top is close to if not more than 10* lower than the motor would like to see ideally. E85 can handle ALOT more timing than he is giving this car.
It also is not necessary to mess with the tune, turn the boost down to whatever power levels you want so you dont break the motor but dont mess up the tune. I guess however that is how he will get people to come back and pay to get retuned for something they should already have. If the cust is too stupid to listen and not keep the boost at a safe level for the shortblock then thats their problem if they eject rods out of the block.
Example: My talon I made 420whp @20psi, 515whp @25psi, and 585whp @ 30psi. When I was on pump I turned it down to 23.5psi and only made 487whp because on that gas that was where I felt the engine would live. But if I splashed in c16 all I had to do was turn the boost up and MIRACULOUSLY the tune was right on! It is that simple.
