AEM EMS Version 2: Install & Tune at STM
#16
i have a V1 AEM tuned by emery, and my start up is damn near like stock even on these cold rochester mornings, drivability and cruising is like stock, and when i put it to the floor it screams. i think a lot of the drivability and start ups etc depend on your tuner, thankfully i have one of the great tuners on my AEM. Now i wonder if there will be any differences between the V1 & V2 other then the price and retune.....

Should be like when Buschur showed 5whp gain throughout the powerband after tossing on some Girodiscs. The Baers weigh a tad less so I predict 6whp

Yes the stock ECU is great, but people should remind themselves, there are many advantages to a standalone. How about a short manual which describes how EVERYTHING works, put simply. For the stock ECU, there is no manual, and you have to read about 5 million 100 page threads and you still don't know the full picture of how the ECU operates. Standalones you get real map tracing and integrated datalogging.
Stock ECU is cheap, has great startup, idle control, knock control, temp&baro compensations, and some other advantages. But much of those points can be achieved with a standalone if the mapper and ECU are very good.
Emery, how does this new AEM's knock control work?

To all the stock ECU questions, like STM is saying everyone has their preference and his is AEM.
Also to tell you the truth, I think that a standalone can eek out a lil more power for a give config then the stock ECU. And like STM mentioned, this car is making more then its stock ECU counterparts.
Must also be nice having map lookup based ONLY on RPM and boost, and no other variable or algorithms.

I will have Shawna get up some pics a little later but the brakes did more then I would have thought. Picked up 7 ft lbs and 12 whp almost all the way through. We changed the brakes right on the dyno and went back to back.

They are great for a DD. The fronts are about 15 lbs and the rears I think were about 12. We will put together a post later tonight for them. I have 3 more sets available and ready to ship for anyone who is interested, PM me.
