Yep, the comparison I posted above was with just the switch flipped and no other changes - those two runs were made within 2min of each other.

Back when I had a 35R and was at 500whp, a downpipe dump made no difference - but I had an external WG w/open WG dump. I'd be curious to see what Shearer's open WG dump for stock-framed turbos would do here.

The 'original tune' AFAIK was in the Haltech, which never worked properly for one reason or another. The tune in the factory ECU was for a different configuration, so it was off.

Looks like on Tuesday when we dyno my 2.4 Black and we will get a feel for what a shearer is worth. My 3" 02 housing w/ 2.25" dump is almost the exact same as the 3" shearer minus the fact that mine is vband and Shearer's is not.

Aaron who's car did you guys test the 02 dump on a few months back. The Rally Red car with stock turbo/green can't remember? You picked up like 15hp if I remember right.

That will be interesting.

Great work as always ted. Looks like you are getting a lot of tuning practice. This car really makes me want a black, monster of a power curve.

TurboJunkie (Billy). We picked up 30whp peak and 80 ft lbs. on his stock VIII turbo. We did switch to SD at the same time but the shape of the powerband and power we picked up everywhere other than peak was immense.

As of late I am, and I'm enjoying it. I began tuning Ford EEC-IV systems (in hex) for both casual and competitive users ~16 years ago, used to fly around and tune at dyno day events, etc. I had more disposable time back then - before many in this forum were old enough to drive.

Ted - I thought I had a lot of data - 153 data points from 2750 to 7687 rpm, yet my VDR curves look no where close to as smooth as yours. I have the smoothing setting set to 4, but to get your basic shape I need to have the setting at 10 - 12 and hp decreases from ~440 (at 4) to 414 (at 10). Also, I notice I am having an odd drop in power from 6500 - 7000 rpm, do you think that could be indicative of valve float (stock cams and springs) ? TIA

Perhaps it could be that you have too many data points. I don't know the algorithm used for the application, but try reducing the number of data points to ~50 and see what difference that makes.
