Why spend $ to have that turbo upgraded to HTA? Just fix the bearings and sell the complete turbo kit. It is a nice kit but you've pretty much maxed it out. Swap the stock manifold back on and get yourself an FP Black. You'll be putting down an extra 50-70 WHP over an HTA 3076 on E-85 and you can pocket the change. Nice numbers though. At the very least, get yourself a CBRD straight shot radiator so as not to have to wrap your rad hose in aluminum foil.

i'm going with a 2.3 stroker and the hta turbo because i like the way they spool together, and how seamless the boost is. With the stocker and the hta full boost should be at 4.5k, which leaves plenty of power for the rest of the rpm band. I'm looking to make a butt load of power, if i wanted to do that i'd switch to a 6262 or something.

Don't get me wrong. Your power achievement is great! It must be a handful on the street.
If you upgrade the 3076 comp wheel to HTA what you will get is an improvement in transient response and spoolup. However, the .63 turbine housing on your large displacement motor is way restrictive for optimal exhaust stroke scavenging though. Top end power suffers, and exhaust gas reversion, combustion chamber pressures and EGT's will increase.
The Black is clearly superior to the 3076, even on a 2L. motor. It moves more air man! And, it blows colder than the 3076.
Yeah, I agree with you 100%.....with your large displacement motor you would be better off looking at an HTA 3586, or the PT&E equivalent. I just don't see the sense of spending $$$ just to upgrade a 3076. At least, not in your particular case.

Actually, your setup seems just about ideal for the street. The .63 housing is fine for the stock displacement, but as "Skyline" says, the .82 A/R housing may be just the ticket when you finally increase the engine displacement to 2300cc. You've gotta nice street combo as is with great torque.

So, you went from a gated housing to a non-gated housing. Is that right? Then, if I am understanding you, it is the turbine wheel and not the compressor wheel that suffered the damage. From the pics it appears that the turbine exducer blades were damaged.

Some noob question ...
I'am running almost the same setup as yours ... but i notice that you're using tial 44 wastegate with 1.5 bar spring while i'm using turbosmart with 1 bar spring ...
So is the 1 bar spring be enough for me or i need to change it to 1.5 bar spring ?
