Evo VIII Mayhem Tuning / stock turbo---396WHP/364WTQ
***Refer to post #3 for updated dyno graph with A/F
#
22 psi
11.5a/f down to 11a/f @ redline
VD Software
dynojet
Smoothing of 12
75*
Evo VIII
Stock Turbo / Bottom end
Crower 280 cams
HKS purple cam gears
Supertech springs and retainers
AMS FMIC / HKS BOV ( I know)
Megan Header / o2 Housing
Perrin DP / HKS Hi Power
Precision 780cc injectors / Perrin Fuel Rail / Walbro 255
Hallman MBC
Apexi intake / Samco turbo inlet
ACT HD clutch and lightweight flywheel
I bought the car a couple weeks ago with a "tune" from IPS motorsports in Ohio.
It was jerky and non-responsive. Basically no fun to drive.
So I got a hold of Cory @ Mayhem Tuning. He had previously tuned my 05 STI to 366/352.
A few maps later and this is the result. The power delivery is soooo smooth!
For reference the car made 345/322 on the VDR software when I bought it.
I'm sure Cory can chime in with a few more details about the actual tune.
Thanks!
***Update
Here is a graph of the car running 2* less timing. Everything else is the same. Hmmm. It seems like if it were past MBT before it would be making the same power now with less timing right?
Still feels fast as hell.
Check it out. thanks

And to go into a little detail on the previous tune. The car was running 10.5 afr and timing was 0*at 3500 up to about 7-8 by redline. He is now running 10*@ 3500 up to about 18-19. With a leaner afr. So i can believe the gains but the whp amazed me but i have doubts still since this is e tuned i have no idea on the road etc.

I'm sure the 22psi is just the end result, not the spike. Remember the stock turbo isn't going to hold more than 22-23 at redline. My 400/400 graph on E85 is '22' psi as well (at redline). Of course my boost spike was 32 psi.
10* at 3500?? That sounds bad to me. If you spin a bearing in the next year or so, that's why. Are you sure it's 10* at 3500? Was the timing increased all the way to 10* and it kept making more power each degree added in?
