Thanks, I really am considering this turbo for my 2g dsm but in journal bearing with .63 ar. From the looks of your graph the ball bearing starts to spool up hard at about 3600 rpm even with your 272 cams. I am going to keep my stock cams to see what the powerband feels like and hopefully I can expect to be spooling hard by about about 3750 from what PTE told me when I called.

keep in mind im still a novice when it comes to tuning. so someone with a lot more experience and know-how could probably make it spool sooner.
i do enjoy this turbo very much.
i should have new numbers on speed density and FF manifold in the upcoming weeks.

You are also still stock head and block, and from what we can tell that 570whp from my buddies build is the highest hp 5857 out there.
That little turbo forward facing on a stroker would be a blast dude!

I want journal bearing because its so much cheaper and according to PTE the journal bearing should only spool around 200-300 rpm slower than the dbb. I can get a 5857 journal bearing for 810 shipped compared to the 1350 - 1400 price for the ball bearing. I am not extremely concerned with spool and I use my Camaro as my drag car I want this just to be a fun street car.

i would really like to see this sucker on a 2.3. i think it would be fun as hell on the street with a stroker. since the turbos dont actually gain any power past say 7k or so it would have a helluva powerband in a stroked car
