Evo 8 PTE 5857 @ 31 psi on E85

Well this has been way overdue. I've had this turbo on my car since May I think. I did a pump tune at 27 psi which put me around 460 if I remember correctly. It then when directly to E85 after that. However I got so lazy because of work and the heat in the garage, I put off wiring the secondary fuel pump off until just recently. I spent the next four days tuning when I could.

Previously, when I was rocking a PTE 50 trim, Mellon tuned me netting the results:

403 hp 333? tq @ 25 psi on 93 oct
489 hp 421 tq @ 31 psi on E85

This is the result with the following items on the car:

2005 Evolution 8
255/40-17 tires on stock IX wheels
stock block
stock head
stock intake manifold and TB
BC 272 cams
HPF intercooler
custom LICP
BF UICP
COBB 3" catback
UR test pipe
Greddy Type S BOV
custom double pump
Shearer T3 manifold
Shearer 3" downpipe
Shearer o2 housing
Tial 44mm WG open dump
PTE 1200cc injectors
Hallman MBC
PTE 5857 .82 housing
E85 winter blend (not sure the E content)

This was done on the same strip of road that got me 489 on Mellon's DLL

31 psi at 4817 RPMs. AFRs look a little funky but the engine seems to like it like that. I tried smoothing it out but it started knocking too much down low. The dip is when the Hobbs switch kicks in at 6 psi. I put it on 12 smoothing because that's where I get the same results for Mellon's DLL.

Very impressive
I can't wait for you to have a built engine with bumped compression and some port work done.
Post pics of the double-pumper we made

nice bump in power DS, it would be cool to see an overlay of the old setup vs the new. Did you tune the new setup yourself?

yes this was my crack at tuning. still need to clean up the AFRs.

i'd really like to see an comparison between the .63 and .82 a/r's

im going to clean it up a bit more before i put it next to your AFR Mr. Mellon.

cool, well it looks like you're off to a good start

I don't think you're going to see much if any difference between a .63 and .82 at 30psi, maybe at 40psi. I made the same power on pump gas with a HTA3582 .63 and HTA3586 .82 (600awhp at 30psi on 93)

gotcha but I was just curious about the power overlay not the AFR

it is good to see more results out of this turbo... I am having a hard time trying to decide whether I want to go with a 5857 like this or the 6262. We have similar supporting mods and 522whp is no joke. Hmmmmmmmmm...

very cool overlay, it's easy to see where the trade off's are. That's a ton more power on the big end so it should scoot on down the road faster when you want it to.
