FP Black vs 3582R HTA

I decided to switch from my FP Black and go to a T3 HTA 35R 82 turbo kit from ETS.
The reason being is that for road racing I find it more reliable to have a ball bearing turbo, I also wanted to have a turbo that would not die off and would make power all the way to red line. And so far here are the results on E85.

Just to make it clear here are the parts is my engine setup and different turbo setups.

2.0 Long Rod motor
Manley H beam 156 Rods
Manley Pistons
Stock Crank
Crank Scraper
AMS Balance Shaft Delete
Cosworth M2
Supertech Valves
Sepertech Dual Springs
AMS Coil On Plug

FP Black w.
JSpeed Manifold
JMF o2 Dump
Megan Downpipe
All Hotside Ceramic Coated

HTA 35R .82 T3
ETS Manifold
ETS Downpipe
Tial 44mm Wastegate
Non Ceramic Coated

FP Black E85 Deep Red HP/ Light Red TORQUE

HTA 3582R E85 Dark Green HP/ Light Green TORQUE

To Clarify the results boost was slightly higher on the 35R and timing was a degree ahead on the black. Up top there was a miss-fire on the 35R last pull probably due to plugs witch was resolved later.
One thing the graph does not show is the way the Tial external wastegate performed at the track that last weekend at Portland international Raceway, you could easily moderate the throttle through corners without excessive surging.
I could not be happier with the results this turbo kit worked exactly how I wanted it to and I plan on putting it to good use on the track this year.

Lastly A BIG thanks to Lucas at English Racing for doing the tuning and getting my car to idle perfectly with 1450cc injectors, and ETS for helping me with the great turbo kit.

Absolutely I am really pleased with the results, the 35R turbo feels like it comes on more gradually and smoother at lower RPM's and once you are in the correct powerband 5k to 9k turbo lag is minimal but like I said earlier the biggest difference is mid throttle in the higher RPM's is more smooth and controllable that the black.

interesting. I'm glad you like the new turbo. I figured you would go large frame.

Thanks, it would be nice if you were in town so I could give you a ride. Now all that needs to be done is a Magnus intake M, some ceramic coating and my motor is done.

No, but my instructor with Audi club drove a Black C6 vette (not a zo6), at PIR I did end up passing almost every car in my run group without having even once come up behind me even when it started raining.

Really cool comparison...Impressed to see that the black makes power close to a t3 frame, but its also good to see the larger frame still have something over the stocks

nice compare....BB for reliability!!

4500 looks like you gave up ~100whp to gain ~60whp @ 8500

what is the significance of run 4 within the compare?

I bet the larger turbo will allow you to easier predict / squeeze / apply the power during mid corner / corner exit!!
