Mellon Tuning EVO e85 40psi stock ecu stock maf 720awhp

*edit* newer results in this thread

a few years ago we did 705awhp on a dynojet in KC with the old 9:1 CR motor. We did a pull on the street just before getting on the dyno and our software said 677awhp 518tq so we were pretty pleased with that.

Now I'm running the 10:1 CR motor and with the same 40psi it's doing 720awhp in software in this muggy 80* weather we're having today so I'm happy with that as well with the stock ecu and stock maf. I'm looking forward to testing the new D2 coilovers on the track when it opens back up so I can go after that 9 second pass.

I overlaid the two logs and it really demonstrates how wicked the new setup is by comparison.

I also pulled a log from a customers tune I just finished on the AEM EMS (speed density) 720awhp 2.2l twin scroll 4088 with a 1.06 hotside at 40psi on e70

RED 10:1
BLUE 9:1

RED 2.0l t3 HTA86 .82 (stock ecu stock maf)
vs
Green 2.2l t4 4088 1.06 twin scroll (aem ems speed density)

Congrats on the new numbers. I have already seen your recent videos, and it's good to see your car is running again and make great power. Keep up the great work, and look forward to seeing some more progress in the near future.

yep, just slightly but yours is still doing well with that big *** 40R. I think yours will hold power out to 9k a little better too. they'll probably both trap similarly as long as yours respools on shifts quickly.

^How high do you plan on revving this setup? I noticed the graph is only to 8,000?

the logger shut off prematurely every time, I think my laptop has a g sensor that's cutting off the hard drive. I plan to spin it to 9k or so

Congrats! Do you see any need to switch to SD with your setup?

thanks, it trapped 139.80 spinning and bouncing last time out on the 9:1 motor so I'm hoping for a little better with the new suspension.

I feel like there's a little more in it if I switched to SD and left the mods/boost/timing/afr the same but I could be wrong. I converted my ROM to v7 months ago (I run v2 for the bastard 96940001 05 EVO 8 ROM) but the idle was crazy rich at 11.4 no matter what I tried. We now know that with the FIC 2150 that there's a minimum pulse width limitation in the ROM, some of that has since been sorted out so I may try it again. That was my first step towards doing SD. I may just go standalone like the AEM EMS second gen. I've handicapped myself long enough with the stock maf/ecu combo heh.

I'd still like to see a 9 on the stock ecu and stock maf just to say it can be done.

I am sure you cam get 9's out of the stock ECU since ETS broke 1K hp on the stock ecu I am sure it will do 9's easy. I am on SD with v7 on a 05 and its doing great.

9's on stock ecu is very doable. Keep up the good work Mellon. I look forward to posting up in your 9 second thread in the drag racing section.
