Update

hit the dyno again last night... I decided to turn up the wick, and see what this thing would do. Last round @ 26.x - 24.xpsi I hit 394/325 unfortunately I dont have that graph.
Last night @ 29.x psi tapering to 27.x @ 7k, left the dyno w/ this...
2-3* peak, and 16* @ 7K. I also richened it up quite a bit just before peak TQ, as a test. No Knock! I'll most likely go over my liogs tonight and lean it back out...

Note: less timing up top. (1-2* less)
also completely losing fuel pressure @ 7K +

Im sure theres more left in it, but feel Im pushing it as it is... stock motor/tranny/clutch, etc...

You're also spoiling up a little late if I'm not mistaken. Did you go to get a full tune or were you playing with it yourself?

3rd gear pull.

Ya, not sure why all pulls werent started @ 3K... Thats where I told him to start the pulls. The earliest I remember seeing the start of a pull was @ 3250 I tuned the car, but he operates the dyno. I cant read alien heiroglyphics...
the screen on the remote, to the dyno is going out, and is unreadable, so i just let him do the pulls...
I think I could have even started a bit shy of 3k, maybe even 2500 (in 3rd) and would still NOT have any surge issues! and would most likely be hitting peak tq ~ 4250 ish...

and as we know, 4th spools even quicker.

edit: Just reviewed the logs in evoscan and it appears he was slowly hitting 100% tps, rather than just mashing! Kinda like turbo lag, but w/ the foot... lol

Def ask/tell to start the pulls at 2500rpm and MASH THAT ISH!!! LOL. I would think that rolling into the throttle would slightly skew the dyno. You're not going for peak numbers... you want a complete view of your power graph so WOT is important.... at least that's how I see it.

Im thinking when I upped the boost on my last couple pulls, last time on the dyno (28psi) w/ 3-4*, the timing was too advanced which negated the increased boost, and resulted in less tq...
Be careful with your tuning. It doesn't sound like you are taking a systematic approach to finding MBT and are relying on the knock sensor. That's a risky approach with ethanol. If the car doesn't make more power with even one more degree, you need to back off the timing. Adding several more degrees, like you said you did above, could have been disasterous. Remember, it's much easier to vent the block with ethanol than 93 because the knock sensor won't tell you when cylinder pressure is in the danger zone.

I should actually be more specific, I had some1 elses "basemap" on the car (w/ 10-11*). I was tryin to be nice cause any1 from cali, knows whom I speak of... I had the car on the dyno, (different dyno) on pump, (my tuning) and the turbo wasnt performing to my/our expectations, so I asked him to throw an ethanol basemap on there. did 2 pulls on that rom (ethanol), just to see if the turbo would wake up... It did...

I got home and looked at his base map and went WTF? and immediately flashed a safer rom. And after my own tuning, w/ much safer timing, , and much richer peak boost afr (as a test), this is what I ended up w/.
and I feel theres more left in it... 16* up top... I know I could hit @least 18*...
Note: I noticed its only hitting 26.x up top, not 27.x...

I can't even imagine what the cylinder pressure increase was like going 'all in' increasing 4* to 10* at peak torque in one shot. Be careful!

This was my concern also... Had no clue that he'd throw in a map w/ timing like that... Called him up the next day like um... 10* @ peak???

and Im just under 23k miles.
