New EVO Red record on BR dyno
Curt Brown has once again pulled some tricks out of his sleeve and put together a killer combination of parts.
Curt came in last week with a goal to set the EVO Red record, which was previously held by Tom P/9sec9, and he did it.
The old record was set at 42.5 psi of boost, running VP Import, AEM EMS, high compression 2 liter, BR ported head, Wilson V2.X intake manifold. Tilton clutch, lightweight racing brakes, lightweight wheels/slicks, no exhaust and alky/water injection. With that combination we hit 564 whp.
Curt showed up with his new BR 2.3RPM engine, Curt Brown ported head, Skunk2 Curt ported intake, header, 02 housing, 3" BR turbo back with two mufflers, STOCK ECU on speed density, pump E85 for fuel. FIC2000 injectors, BR double pumper, BR Race FMIC and i/c pipes, S3 cams and the FP Red. The car is nice, he drove here from PA with it for the dyno. Enkei wheels and radial tires. Giro disc rotors and stock calipers.
The tuning began, Curt handles about 99% of it but had a few oddities that were happening and asked me for some help. The car ran EXTREMELY good after the tuning was done, drivability is the best I've seen from stock ECU and speed density after it was done.
We only ran the car up to 37 psi, 5 psi short of what it took to set the old record.
Curt's combination was able to put down 570 whp and 523 ft lbs of torque! The new record is more impressive considering the dyno re-calibration the dyno went through a few years ago that dropped the hp readings and shifted the charts to the right of where they were.
Here's the dyno sheet:
Great job Curt, glad we are friends and thanks for using our parts![/QUOTE]

Nice work guys!
can you by chance overlay his green numbers with this??
it looks like driveability takes a big hit. I see torque is 90 down at 3500rpm.
also the power band is not as broad. red hits hard from 6000-8000, green hitting hard 5000-8000

thats good spoolup considering the car has gsc s3's. was this 4th gear also?
not a fair comparison Aby..... the temps were in the 30f's back then.. now it was 75f or so today in ohio. that alone is another 30whp or more for the green + as you said different cams.
his green results were on stock ecu also.
