Cool Mellon Racing Matt's EVO 8 RS AEM EMS TUNE 2.3 MOTOR ON 6262 Results 701HP 551TQ

We recently setup a Tuning Trip and went out to St. Louis to Road tuned several cars , this is one of the cars we worked on .

Name :Matt
Location :Wentzville, MO
EVO8 RS 5 Speed
AEM EMS
2.3 Engine
PTE 6262 tial 44mm wg
Hypertune Intake manifold and throttle body
ETS 3.5" FMIC
CNC ported head
Comp 280 Camshafts
FIC 2150
Twin Pump
E85 - 31 Psi [/B]

Every now and then some one asks us if we only do Stock Ecu tunes ... Only to find out that we have been working with the AEM EMS for sometime and we have tuned several Evos on that Stand alone and the results speak for themselves

Matt has an evo 8 RS on the very Popular PTE 6262 he wanted us to tune his AEM EMS after working his idle and making sure the car woulkd cruise like it should we cranked up the boost to 31psi on his 2.3 , with the use of E85 we Made 701hp/551TQ

MAtt Welcome to the Mellon Racing Army

Awesome results, and great spool up for a turbo that size. Very similar to a FP black on a 2.0 just a couple hundred RPMS off

by the way, there's much more in this car, we called it good there because it's plenty fast for Matt and safe to run hard. It'll take him awhile to get used to it. We'll put it on the dynojet most likely when we visit Kansas for the Midwestevos bday bash.

just checked it out.. looks well built.. although i cant say i like the rigged intake pipe to make the lower coolant hose fit lol.

other then that whoever built that car did a really nice job. i never seen a carbon fiber back piece like that in a evo thats pretty badass. also love the steering wheel.

actually that's so you can flip the intake pipe to point up when it's raining or flooded streets.

no look at the video again. that intake wont fit without that cut in it.. thats clearly visible to see.

that would obstruct airflow im sure a bit .. thats the only reason i dont like it.

also that ic piping looks as big as intake pipe almost lol. now you got me looking at every detail of the engine bay.

31psi and 700awhp says it isn't obstructing airflow enough to matter. Keep in mind I'm running a worlds smaller 3" intake pipe making nearly 800awhp.

probably not, just was something that popped out at me.. a better designed radiator can avoid that kind of fabrication needing though.. as you know.

There is a lot going on with the car, that's for sure. I do actually have a regular intake pipe that came with the car also but this one seems to work just fine. There are some small changes I would like to make but overall I love the car. How she sits is how she came. Very happy learning the new power level. My previous Evo was making 400/400 so this is a whole new world for me.
