HTA86 actually lags for a 35r compared to an HTA82 or 6262. Add a few hundred rpm worth of lag and you get the HTA94. But you have to consider you also get maybe an extra 1krpm or more of useable power up top where the HTA86 starts to fall off. I like the compromise myself. You get the same top end power of a 70mm turbo but w/ better response.
Just curious, any reason you stopped at 36psi? FP claims it to be a 40+psi turbo.

Im back to running my HKS EVC. Its limited to 250kpa / 36psi
Anything higher and it thinks its overboosting and shuts it down to wastegate, lol.

My previous turbos i was running a Hallman MBC, which is still in the engine bay actually... but i'll only use it at the dyno. My front facing turbo makes the boost go up alot at high mph. I remember last time it hit 39psi in 3rd and when i shifted into 4th gear my logs said it hit 46psi! But it wont do it stationary (eg. on a dyno) Anyways, i lifted the head a few passes after that so I kinda wanted a lil' more control (for now at least) So im going conservative.
I can always turn up the wick later... im in no rush. I've hit over 800whp on a mustang dyno before. It was a lot of headache keeping it together, not in a real hurry to get back to all that again It was basically a dyno queen
A true 700-750 is plenty to get the job done.

For those asking about the comparison of the 3586 to the 3794. I have had both, loved both!

There is about a 500 rpm spool diffrence, but WELL over 100+ MUSTANG whp difference!

As far as street driving goes.... I had more traction issues with the 3586 over the 3794, 3586 is a SUPER awesome fun street turbo, the 3794 isnt quite as fun to drive around, but you beat a lot faster cars with it, so.....LOL. I ran both turbos @ 40psi to redline. Car is a 2.0

haha, that's exactly what i was looking for! I'll take the 100hp! I don't care one bit about lag as long as i get kicked in the face with gobs of power when it comes.

I wouldnt always say that.... there is a time that comes with the turbo is simply just too big. It's all about usuable power... the usuable power is a little less, but luckily you never fall out of the power, so it works... I cant stand graphs that are raising the whole time, My graph is at the top at 5800-6000 and stays there til it's time to shift. This turbo is probably the largest turbo that will be on my car(unless someone comes out with an auto for the evo...hint hint, wink wink, nudge nudge), now time to better other things and see where it's at
