I completely disagree that its a downgrade. The bigger maps and V7 have issues as well that I refuse to deal with since they arent perfect.

V7 has no features that I need the way I have the load to MAP setup. 200 is 20psi, 300 is 30psi, the ECU does boost comp anyway so all I need is to keep the breakpoints where the car works. If its an E85 car that works up to 35psi, the last column I use is 375. If its gas and 28psi the last column I really need is 300-310. Everything is unique to the customer and his needs.

The V5 I am using is not off the shelf either, it was the last big change David did before V7 and as far as I know I am the only one that has the specific code. Visually it looks like V5.0 to V5.10 but its not exactly the same.

i worded what i said wrong, i didnt think before i said it.. its just a older style/ version rom.. nothing wrong with that.

the smaller maps work, no question about that . i have no bad bugs though with bigger maps on 9653 9417 and 8859 which pretty much covers all american evos. (03-07)

i cant say the same for the edm roms though. and i will agree newer isn't always better in a lot of cases in life. at the end of the day they both get the job done and that's all that matters.

just bad choice of words on my behalf.. because its not really a downgrade.. more like just another option to use.. one isn't lesser then the other per say when it comes to the overall capabilities of them. i didn't mean it in a bad way.. i just used the wrong kind of words at the time. my apologies.

Of course you can't see that because you're don't have these tables defined... because you haven't spent the last few years working on this.

Do any of you guys have any customers/shop cars that are making as much power on an HTA86 that my personal TSCOMPTUNED car is? Before you question it, no, I was not asked to post this by Tom.

i appreciate you sticking up for me Travis, but please i don't want to get into this in Fred's thread. i know why you said that though.. because you're using v7 SD.. either way lets drop it. i know what works and what doesn't.. end of discussion. i stand by what i said above.. the roms all do the same thing at the end of the day. make evos fast!

Yes. Multiple cars with multiple setups and actually proven on a dyno.

My car made 794 at 38psi on a 3586 on the kill tune in the middle of July uncorrected. I make 831/630 at 39.5 on my easy tune now with the 3794 but thats not what you asked. My car is not a "shop" car though. I paid for and install all my parts as well as tune it. It has been driven 15,000 miles on the street and raced somehow everyday. What I learned from tuning the 3794 (making pulls in 4th gear instead of 3rd) leads me to believe that my 3586 was actually well over 800 had it been dyno'd with sufficient load like I do the 3794 (and anything over 650whp) now.

Mikey made 748 on a Black and is still the highest stock appearing turbo car in the world (though it has been debated because of his turbine housing). It was built and tuned here based on what I had already learned from my car. The specific parts, cams, headwork, tuning, etc.

Big Jesse made 730whp in his 2.0L Evo 8 on off the shelf S2s and a 3586. Knowing what we know now, I think switching the VIII version of the 12 gauge cams I have in my car it should do the same as mine or more. He has already ran 142mph in a 3550 lb car on real street tires (245/45-17 goodyear F1).

Tom,

Apology accepted though probably wasnt needed . We all phrase things incorrectly sometimes, I am no different than anyone else and have done it many times.

Good luck at Spec Ops in 2012. Have a great Xmas lads!
This is straight awesome. Thank you Steve

I was spoiled for the most part but I had to face a DI if I fouled up and got treated like it was me first week in boot. On the upside I could do more pushups than anyone else in school
