its not that big of a deal to shift to 5th and still run 10s, on street tires alot of people have done it, i did it on a red on 100oct. on snow tires with a high 1.7 60ft. and i suck. so don't worry about all the tire and gearing stuff until you get the hang of it. G/L

I experienced this setup first hand...

On the old tune it was trapping a best 123 tapping off the rev limiter in 4th. Best time was a 11.7. More seat time would bring the times down... Im positive it has a 11.4 in it with the old setup/tune, but with this new found power it will be close to the low 11s and high 10s mark

With just an evo8 tranny this thing would be in the 10s for sure... just needs that evo8 4th gear

i don't agree with this.. its a huge deal to have to deal with an additional shift at the track.. that's another .2-.4 seconds lost.

Just for reference...

My Evo8(stock evo8tranny) ran an 11.8@122(1.7s) making about 420whp on VD.
Js Evo9(stock 9 tranny) ran a best of 11.7@123(1.8s-9s). So your telling me gearing doesn't matter that its an evo9 tranny? If that were the case shops and so many Evo owners wouldn't even worry about swapping gears in tranny rebuilds.

If it takes 0.2 to 0.4 seconds to make the shift you won't see the corresponding reduction in 1/4 mile time if you don't have to shift. Remember that the car is still moving while the shift is happening.

Maps compgate external wastegate set up w/ all internal parts removed.

So far the Megan exh mani is holding up, but def there's some btr more $ options out there.

As for the gearing, it sucks we even tried raising the rev limit n it still didn't help. One thing that lgshow didn't mention was the lockout we get most runs with the 60k mile act clutch that's in there.

From Map Performance, its a lil laggy compared to internal but the big power potential is thekre. Can't wait to see what these numbers mean on a dynojet. If what I've seen prev is right I should b n ur neighborhood

Like J mentioned... It is hard to shift fast with the current used clutch in the car. In due time this thing will be race ready! Haha

the 4-5 shift is not the best angle either. i have no experience with a evo 9 gear box so thats as far as im gonna go. the only experience i have is the first gear since my trans has the longer 9 first gear.
