Evo IX stock turbo, approaching the limit

Well, I took my car up toe Knoxville TN to get some dyno pulls for submitting my NASA TTS car classification info. After the first round of mods, my car was Mellon tuned, made 335/300 and drove great. On the second round of mods, I did the tune (road) and the Virtual Dyno graph showed me 377/361:

I was curious to see what an actual dyno had to say, and here is what it made 379/380:

The boost/AFR plot shows me the stock tubo is also just about out of lung:

That is some pretty heavy boost taper. But for a stock motor/cams/turbo IX it makes pretty good power. And I have run this tune all year through multiple HPDE's without a hitch.

The power mods:
3" full exhaust with RTP and SS MAP O2 Housing
3" ETS Intercooler and LICP
Hallman MBC
Ported OEM Ex Manifold
RC750 Injectors w/ Walbro 255
ETS Intake and Cone Filter

Yeah, it's on 93.

Second round of mods was:

Replace HFC with RTP
MAP O2 housing
Ported Ex Manifold
Injectors and Fuel Pump (Stock was close to maxed)
ETS FMIC

Switch to a 3-port, ECU boost and enjoy a much longer and fatter torque curve further up the rev range.

I don't need to make much more power. Pretty close to TTS limit. Besides, on E85 I would almost empty the tank in a 20 minute session on some tracks. And there is one E85 pump where I live and the station is thinking of taking it out for lack of sales.

That is something I am looking into and I also have some FP4R cams in the garage to install when I do the timing belt maintenance this winter.

Depending on how much weight I get out of the car, tire size and other factors I will be limited to something in the 380-400 awhp range for NASA TTS. But I do want to get a better power delivery and extend that torque curve.

Or just use a MBC and/or WGA with a stiffer spring that will hold boost better up top.

No. It drops to 18psi. Your reading the AFR scaling.

Yeah whatever floats your boat.
Both will do the same thing.

Not bad for a stock turbo. What is the peak PSI that you are seeing, 25, 26? I have a stock turbo, but in my case is a 2005 and it looks basically the same but I am holding 20psi up top, if I try more than that I see knock, so I left it at that. But is looks nice!

Hah, I was wondering where you'd find an AWD Dyno. I guess knoxville is a little closer than driving to ATL to find one.

Have fun tearing up the SCCA Mid-South.

You need better boost control for sure! That boost taper is terriable. Its not that you "need more power". Its the fact that you can gain power from 6500rpm and up making the car pull harder and longer. PERFECT for RR and AC! Plus its a cheap mod. Its a no brainer.
