Recommended boost for my mods..???

Question Recommended boost for my mods..???

Hi all...

I own a 2006 evo IX.
I have it booked in for a dyno tune tommorow but I'm unsure on what psi to run for my mods!???

Mods:
Pro race stock tubular manifold
Tomei expreme dump and down pipe
Test pipe (decat)
Cat back stainless 3" exhaust
Apexi intake
Evo 8MR bov
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Grimmspeed 3port boost solenoid...

Any recommend boost pressure ???

what octane gas u guys workin with down undah... As long as your tuner knows how to adjust a/f and timing properly, if ambient temps behave you can go 23-27 peak and hold maybe 21-23 by redline. Id say that would be good enough without the stocker goin out of efficiency range in higher rpms. Depends you really wont know till its on the dyno and being tuned if u run into those kinda issues.

I run it on bp ultimate 98 or shell vpower 98....

16g can do 30 psi just depends on fuel system I would say between 20-30psi if stock motor.

Hi Frankie,

You're better posting this in the Evo/Eng/Turbo section as this is for results only. You are bound to get alot more replies there mate.

Our 98 ron is equal to the US 93 oct (as they add ron & rom then divide by 2 for their rating) & if you have a look at the usual bolt ons, you see they tend to run a bit more boost than our guy's do. Our tuners will say around 22-24psi max but here they are happy to run between 24-26psi which is what I run on BP98.

should be able to run 23 psi safely.
