Dissapointing numbers
UPDATED PLEASE SEE POST 62
Mods are in signature. I went to get my cam install and tune to wrap up my base modification list before turbo swap in october and WOOOWWWW what low frickin numbers!
No boost leaks says tuner
New throttle body seals
Tuner says that my 9.8 hotside turbo (he didn't know that 05 evo's have a 10.5 hotside) just wont hold any boost. He said that he tried turning the boost up but it would just have bad taper and not hold so he tuned me at like 20 psi max.
I made 267 whp / around 267 tq on a mustang dyno using 91 octane.
I have been poking around on the forum trying to piece together what it could be but really would like some more opinions.
My research so far has led me to believe it could be:
- Bad WGA, has this happened to you guys much?
- Something is wrong with my turbo
- Bad Bypass valve
- MBC is ****ed up (even though I'm 95% sure I installed it the right way)
I want to buy a pinto, curl up into a ball and watch x files.

definitely seems a little low. Like 5 or so years ago, my 8 did 295hp/274tq on that dyno. I had intake, exhaust w/ HFC, old HKS 272's, GST boost line, 760cc injectors. I think that's it.
So not super low, but my car certainly wasn't overly strong for an 8 as it was.

On 91 octane (depending on the weather the day of the dyno test and given the limitations you mentioned in your first post) you seem to be in the low end of the ballpark for a low reading Mustang Dyno.
Forget the numbers for a minute: Does the car run better, smoother, or faster?

Mileage is 46xxx
I was expecting around 290-295 for that particular dyno
Mustang or dynojet?
Yes the car is much more linear. He filled in some power up top that was not there before the tune. HOWEVER, I find when I'm on the freeway doing 60, my car is very slow to accelerate. I feel like my dad's outback is faster than my car. VERY disappointing considering all the time, busted hands, and most importantly MONEY I put into this thing.

Suggestions? do you think the 91 is really the problem here or something else?

Compression checked?
Valve timing could also be out after putting the S1s in. I had the same experience with my 05 VIII, and until I read up on how to dial my cams in, and then did it, I was 10-15% down across the board.

At 60mph on the highway, assuming that you are in 5th gear, you will be turning the engine at fairly low revs (maybe 2600rpm). If you just kick the throttle, you will not get neck snapping acceleration...but if you drop it down a gear (7000rpm in 4th is good for about 110mph or so) or two gears (7k rpm in 3rd is good for around 80mph), you'll get the rush of speed you're looking for!
Yes stock cam pulleys

are we comparing apples and oranges here? i see you own a 9 and the OP owns a 8. There is also no need to degree gsc s1 cams on a 2.0. He should be getting power right out the box. the reasons for your low numbers have to be a mixture of things. for one, 91 octane is crap. your evo 8.5 turbo is restricted with its smaller intake side. i would definitely do a compression test followed by a boost leak test, also look over your parts...
