He may be talking about on an 8. The mivec on the 9 spools a turbo much better as evidence of the graph he posted.

Here is a comparison of last night vs this morning.

The only reason power fell some in the 5K-6K range was because it moved into another load cell that had 1deg less timing. I confirmed it in the logs. It likes 9deg there and it only got 8. Potentially it could be from a ham-fisted move on my part after advancing it to 10 only to find the car didn't like that, and then thinking I was putting back to 9deg My dyno road is not secluded and after 3-4 pulls it attracts the wrong kind of attention so I get outta there after 3 regardless of outcome.

Here I am trying to crack 500whp on a mustang dyno with meth with a ams 3076, can you explain how yours differs aside from the 1.03 and the twin scroll?

My setup is built 2L ported stm intake manifold/buscher 65mm/gsc 1 cams/ams tubular manifold, best I could get was 355mustang on 91 octane.
Never thought ppl would want to step it up to a 280 cam or so for a non gtx 3076..

Do you have the exact specs of your 2L 3076 build?

the 498 was on a dynojet.
It was a stock 2.0, with all the normal bolt on's. Including a ported head and S3 cams (prob the biggest reason) and Magnus V5. It was very laggy but loved to rev.

All the specs are in the first post. I'm using the high lift 276Kelfords to take advantage of the CNC ported head's additional airflow. The turbo is an HTA3076 so it moves a similar amount of air to the GTX3076.

I have measured the engine compartment tempts and felt the torque loss several times. so this is stupid bench racing and a waste of time for me.
03whitegsr is correct about the higher heat conduction per unit thickness of cast iron vs 300 series stainless. I do agree with you that a cast EM will retain more exhaust heat because of the lesser surface area, but I'm not sure how much advantage it provides. I've tried two thickwalled tubulars and the GTSpec on my Evo, and none gave up any spool that over stock that I could detect. Perhaps offset by the better flow? Maybe a cast high flow EM is the sweet spot?

So again this was with a standard bb 3076 not a gtx or hta? You were able to make 498 on 93 octane?

What were the ambient temps when you made 570WHP on the 3076? That's pretty high for a GT3076R.
