Evo IX Turbo, 412whp, tscompusa tuned, JDM Evo VIII
Hi all,
Been awhile since I've posted new results. My last thread with Tom tuning the car can be found here along with the mods I had at the time:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...iii-turbo.html
I live in the Cayman Islands, coldest it ever gets here is maybe high 60's, but usually low 70's. It was 80 degrees after 10PM after I got Tom the last logs tonight, so yah, kinda hot! I can't thank Tom enough, always impressing me. Really glad to have him tuning my car because here on the island we don't really have real 'professional' tuners, just a few.. Next round of mods will be GSC S2 cams along Kiggly Beehive springs and retainers and some injectors.
Here's a basic mod list:
Evo IX Stock Turbo
Curt Brown Ported Intake/Exhaust Manifolds
Perrin Filter
ETS 3.5" Intercooler, UICP & MAP LICP
Hallman Pro MBC
Since the last tuning session I've changed from an Evo VIII turbo to the IX turbo, and upgraded the intake and exhaust manifolds to Curt Brown ported ones. Tom said the TQ could have been the same as the HP but to keep it safe he kept it down!
Please see the virtual dyno graph below (no real dyno here on the island), I was very pleased with this, this was also accomplished on 2PSI less boost (28psi). I use Sunoco 104 Octane gas in the car, no more pump gas as I don't drive the car everyday.

Thanks for sharing AJ! definitely awesome results. There is def something about the JDM evos that are far different than the USDM, and i am 99% its the head. The car takes timing like a dsm!
I wonder what cams will do with this car. very seldom do i see a car on stock cams go over 400WHP, especially an evo 8. you definitely have a strong car there. the gas is definitely awesome as well. That sunoco 104oct is the real deal. Pretty much race fuel.

your car is making nice power with that set up, mine is very similar but i haven't dynoed the car as yet. I've got an 8 engine with gsc s1 cams, 9 turbo, acl race bearings, full 3" Titanium jasma compliant HKS cat back, upgraded walbro 255 fuel pump, HKS SSQ recirculating blow off, upgraded intercooler, with ralliart piping. I hope i can get at least 360 whp or more on pump gas with a decent tune.

Over a year of Tom's tuning and bottom end still in great shape! Doing a 60k service and installing GSC S2s, Kiggly beehive springs and retainers, Curt Brown ported throttle body, new head gasket and H11 head studs! I have FIC high z 1100's to install also as soon as Tom sends a new map that is scaled correctly for them.
