Jerod's 657whp 6266 Evo VIII
#1
Jerod's 657whp 6266 Evo VIII
Jerod first brought us his 2005 Evo 8 in Aug of 2011 with a few really good mods meant to make some power.
FIC 750cc injectors
GSC S2s
GSC Valveprings/retainers
FP DBB Black
O2 dump (hood exit)
Buschur race core FMIC kit
ER SD with Omnipower 4 bar
The car was not wanting to take much timing nor making awesome power at less boost (timing related), however we got it to make a respectable 438whp-
This didnt last long as Jerod was concerned with not being able to run less than 26psi (29 on the spike) and since the car wasnt wanting to take timing, some FIC 1250s and a switch to E85 was made-
We ran into a little snag with the single pump was simply not enough. Jerod once again decided in short order to beef it up and add an AMS F1i intake manifold and a second pump. Unfortunately before we could really get it make power the headgasket decided to rebel and we needed to fix that.
Around this time, Jerod deployed and while gone opted to have us do a little more than just the headgasket. A full drop in motor was built, everything was checked, and off to the dyno it went-
This also was a first for us as we switched the car to a Hyundai head in the process. The Hyundai version of the Evo 8 head is a better casting, and while it requires quite a few other part changes initially, its fairly inexpensive if something were to happen down the road.
FFWD a little.
After his most recent deployment, Jerod still wasnt satisfied so on went a custom forward facing 6266 kit. We knew going into it that the 1250 and doublepumper werent going to keep up on E85 when the boost really got up there but the results were still very impressive-
Here are the 2 overlaid-
The wideband was thrown off between the WG and the sensor having a fair amount of racegas across it the last week. The AFR as indicated in car was only a 12.5 out the top. We turned it back down after the session until we get some 2150s in the car.
