Evo 9 MR SE - CBRD 2.3L CBRD LMP 35RB turbo kit S3 E85 | 700WHP+

Finished working on Chucks very nicely built Evo 9. All work was performed by CBRD in house. Every part on this car is basically a CBRD custom fabricated part. This kit and in general parts combination alone make for a really nice spool up and everything fits as good as stock! When I get some better pictures from Chuck I will update the thread.

There is more in this car uptop and for sure downlow, but hes only using an exedy twin HD for now and its probably borderline barely holding up right now. Once he swaps the clutch for something stronger we will give it more boost up top and really let this car shine.

I had to keep the torque down on this setup. this setup wanted to make massive amounts of mid range torque. If we pushed this car 100% mid range it would make over 700tq i am willing to bet.

General mods of the car consist of:

CBRD Spec 2.3 L - Manley 100mm TT crank - Carrillo Pro-H-beam rods with upgraded hardware - CP side coated pistons
CBRD Race Head
CBRD FMIC (Garrett core)
CBRD UICP and LICP
CBRD Intake pipe
CBRD Intake Manifold /w Full blown cast 70mm
CBRD 35RB turbocharger
CBRD LMP Exhaust Manifold
CBRD Custom O2 Housing
GSC S3 cams
Grimmspeed 3 port
Tial 50mm bov
Tial 44mm WG
FIC 2150cc injectors
AMS1000 fuel system
Tephra v7 SD w/ ecu boost

Graph:

We were actually having trouble with getting the car to hook in 3rd even on wide 255/35/18's lol.

Great kit and awesome results! I've been eyeing this kit so hopefully someday I can get it done.

Tom, how do you think this kit will do with 2.2l stroker instead? I wonder what the R2's would do with this setup.

Got it. I just looked at the gsc site and saw that the s3's are a 280 duration with 11.5 and 11.7 lift while the r2's since based of the s2's are a 274 cam but with 12.1 and 11.9 lift

Since the r2 is meant for the 2.3l I wonder if he would have seen more tq/hp. Just curious to how the powerband would have changed

Can someone elaborate on this for me? I am stuck on the term "meant".

The R2's were designed for the stroker kits like the 2.2l-2.4l. From what I understand is that the higher lift allows more air to enter the engine allowing the bigger displacement to get the air it needs.
