Evo 8 - Manley 2.3L / FP Black DBB (twinscroll) / GSC S3 cams / 93 + E85

Brad contacted me and reminded me of this car I wanted to share but forgot. Im glad he reminded me. I wanted you guys to see this cars results! This is another FP Black beast.

The car is currently for sale. I don't know his reason for selling, but he is a marine, so maybe just due to not getting enough time for the car or something of that nature.
The car tuned very easily, and made great power as you can see in the graph.
That is a good sign the owner has built it properly and the car should be very reliable for whoever buys it!

He made a lot of video footage with the car, and has a for sale thread here https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...48k-miles.html

The mods are:

Manley 2.3 stroker w/turbo tuff rods and manley forged crank
GSC S3 cams
ETS short route piping
AMS 3.5" intercooler
ToxicFab hood o2 dump
ToxicFab v3 exhaust manifold
HKS exhaust and unknown DP
FP bb black Twinscroll with 25psi wga used the evo9 turbine housing (not stainless steel)
Hallman MBC
Grimmspeed 3 port
Buschur double pumper
FIC 2150 injectors
Spoolin up COP
Synchronic DV (new style, have not chosen push or pull setup yet)
TRE Ultimate ratio trans /w 4.11 gears
Tephra v7 Speed density /w hybrid boost

The blue line is 93oct
The red line is E85

The graph is below:

Theres actually more in this car yet, but we kept it so the car will be very reliable. This has the potential to break 700 on e85 quite easily.

Heres one of the E85 pulls:

Thank you Tom! I'm very happy with the results, we made more power than I expected with an unported head. E85 is a hell of a drug!

If you were to turn it up and make the most out of the setup, would this carry the power out the top better, or is 6800-7k about where peak power would remain? Not saying the powerband isn't awesome by any means, just wondering its falling off after peak because you left it soft.

I would think this is an airflow issue as I am using the stock throttle body, stock intake manifold, un-ported head, and a 3.5" intercooler instead of a 3.7", also the turbine outlet is also unported.

However I am no expert and am curious to hear what Tom has to say.

Ya its the setup in general. It wont keep climbing to redline. It is an airflow issue. Its a combination of things. Its the bigger displacement with the medium size turbo, and anything else restrictive.

It could be made less apparent if we made the boost climb more towards the redline, but he is selling the car, so i didn't want to really push on it to hard.

I feel the car can make a lot more power with more boost up top.

I enjoyed the setup quite a bit. Did several different combinations of cams and turbos after this. The last one was a 2.3 with S2 cams and a Xona 7864. Made 900hp 738tq and revved to 9500. The fp black was a simple setup I'd go back to any day.

How did you rev a 2.3 to 9500? According to everyone here that would destroy the engine in very short time.

Build it using the Manley billet 100mm crank.

Light rods, BW light weight billet crank, light pistons, everything balanced well. People also push 2.0LR to 11500. Motor was just fine.
