Opinions of PTE 5858 set up

My setup:

STM Vband Housing
Tial 44mm MVR Wastegate w/ dump
PTE 5858 82 ar Ball Bearing Vband in/out
GSC s3 Cams
Vishnu Adjustable Cam Gears
ID1000's
Single Walbro 255
Hallman MBC
ETS Stock Route 2.5" IC Piping
ETS 3.5" IC
ETS MAF Intake
Greddy Ti-C Exhaust

I currently am sitting at 422whp/332wtq Dynojet on pump gas at 24 psi

Does this seem low?

I feel after reading through many of your guy's set ups on here with the 5858 I should be sitting more around 440whp at the 24 psi mark. My current tuner isn't comfortable pushing out to the 27-28 psi mark where most of you sit that are putting down 460/470's. Any thoughts on this? All readings on a Dynojet and not a VD.

Thanks!

Who's tuning it? What octane pump gas is it on? Do you know how much timing it's running at peak power? You should be able to run more boost. My car does about 26-27psi on ACN 91..

93 octane. A local company to me in Pittsburgh. I am not sure on the exact timing at peak but he claims he is uncomfortable pulling more timing. I can find out the timing aspect of it later on. I feel like something is missing.

On 93 octane, most tuners seem to be able to get away with 11-13* and 27-28psi out the top. On 91 my car is 26psi and I think it hits 10* of timing above 7500rpm's..

Idk, my car was never dyno'ed on pump gas. But being that its a different turbo, and different cams, my numbers wouldn't matter much. They would probably by lower than your number if all things were equal in the tune (boost, timing, AFR).

There are so many variables with Dyno numbers. What was the temperature in the dyno room? Are you at sea level or elavation? What were the A/F ratios with your pulls? Are you stock ecu? Standalone?

There is a whole lot that could be going on. Too many variables to go off other's dyno graphs.

Sometimes they make what they make. He didn't want to hammer on it on pump gas , thats understandable. Don't think just because you "saw it on the internet" or a buddy said this or that then it needs to be pushed higher. Alot of guys will run it hard on the dyno and back it down for safety . 25pounds on pump gas is still alot of pressure. How many people push the bearings out trying to run just one more degree or pound of boost. Just not worth it IMO.

If you want to make some big numbers, get some larger injectors and ethanol and let him crank it up. Ethanol lets you get away with almost anything.

One, yes dynos all differ. But I'm at 24lbs. It's just super conservative. I have all the quality parts and nothing is wrong with it that I know of. It's not I heard on the Internet, it's everyone rocking this turbo that is in the 27lb range. I would run e85 but not close enough to my school.

Its ok to be conservative on pump fuel. A rebuild gets expensive if it gets unhappy.

Even though its a static test you can do a leak down and compression test to get an idea on how healthy the engine is. If its had a high boost/pump gas life that can wear anything down. That doesn't tell the entire story but gives you an idea. If your tuner made the call to stop then it might just be the limit on that fuel with your setup.

Its obviously not TPG because they use a Mustang Dyno. I would visit TPG tuning and see what they think.

Awesome, first set up ive seen thats almost identical to mine! I think your tuner may have kept it superrr conservative or just didn't wanna extract power from it lol. Basically same mods except 4" IC and im on speed density. MBC roughly 26 psi netted 478whp DD at E-spec and then 500/416tq dynojet at Moore Auto. I'm curious if more load i get on my taller 4.11 gears would make any difference.
