So I just got my battery installed. I didn't end up laying it flat like I intended to but oh well. I think it came out pretty good overall. I will eventually trim down the stock tray but for now this will do. I didnt put it on a scale but the thing was light as a feather. Oh yeah and the car fired right up

^^^Extra red/ground cables....(1) looks like it goes to the chassis/fender area & (1) goes to the top of the trans? Any reason for doing that?

better electrical current through the charging system. Some refer to it as the "Big 3" in the audio world which improves three things: positive alternator to battery, negative ground to chassis and negative ground to engine

I'm assuming that is what he has done there

Disregard the red which I know is completely counter intuitive for ground. I had a lot of extra 4 gauge wire which just so happened to be red. Stupid I know but I made the grounding kit like 6 years ago.

Exactly. I forget how many points it has since I did it so long ago but i goes from the driver fender to negative battery post then to the transmission, then intake manifold, then the firewall and then over to the passenger fender.

Does it work? I have no idea I had the supplies and was bored one day so I went with it. Don't mean to derail this thread so I apologize but if you have any specific questions or want additional pictures I would be more than happy to provide them.

Speaking of grounds and back on topic, I had some fun trying to figure out the best way to position the battery. No matter which way I oriented it, I ran into some issue. I decided the best approach was the way I have it mounted now but I had to do a little modifying of the negative wire that goes to the battery. If you look at my picture you can see that the wire comes off the battery and then about 6" behind it, its bolted to the chassis. That bolt would originally not reach by an inch or two. I've seen others mini battery installation pics and see that bolt simply removed and sitting there but I didn't feel that was right. I then realized that if I could carefully remove that terminal on the wire and flip it the other direction it would give me the additional clearance I needed. After prying that thing off I flipped it crimped it back on and sure enough I had just the right amount of length to allow it to bolt back up and reach the battery.

To answer my own question since nobody else could chime in.

OEM crank pulley = 3 lbs 12 oz

I'd like to get weights of aftermarket crank pulleys. Anyone have one to weigh?

For light weight ones or harmonic ones?

I'd prefer harmonic ones. I'm specifically looking for a confirmed weight of a Fluidampr pulley. According to their website it is 6.8 lbs.

I thought I remember someone saying it was lighter. That is almost twice the weight of the OEM pulley if that is true.

I get mine in today as I missed the signature yesterday. I will compare stock to fluidampr when they come in.

A few years ago Fluiddampr went from aluminum to steel. I have a aluminum model I bought while they were changing over to steel. I am sure it is considerably lighter. You should be able to find a aluminum Fluidampr used.

Sure thing as I wanted to verify as well.

I wonder if the effect is the same as using a heavy flywheel or if it differs because of the location on the other side of the crank..

Also would using a light flywheel with a fluidampr feel the same as a stock flywheel and stock crank pully?
