Ohh ok, in that case go for it.

call around to a couple of local shops, being that you dont need the refrigerant back, you can probably find one that will do it for free. they just need to evac the system. by doing that, they get 20-30 dollars of freon for free. and you help save the environment.

Weirdness - When I took the low pressure cap off, I heard a loud hiss which had me worried. So, I tested the valve with a flat screwsdriver and it made a really weak hiss for less than 30 secs and then nothing....Tried the high pressure line and nothing. So, I started to unbolt it and nothing came out.

So, I am assuming my system had a leak or was out - extremely odd!

definitely sounds like you were low; its fairly common for the schraeder valves to leak and the only thing that holds freon in the system is the cap. They are the exact same type valves as on your tire stem; good reason to make sure you dont lose your valve stem caps as well.

Has anyone removed any of the shields on the bottom of the car around the exhaust and drive shaft area. They run nearly the entire length of the car and I would guess that total they weigh around 5 lbs.

I wonder if you really need them. I know that the floor already gets hot if you are WOT for a while, I wonder if you would melt the carpet or something worse if you got rid of them. What do you think is the worst that could happen?

because most carbon fiber hoods are not single layer carbon, they are reinforced with fiberglass..compared to an aluminum hood 99% of the CF hoods dont save weight.. there are 1-2 that do but that are $$$$..

i have megans coming in a week. ''street series''

the box im told was 45lbs from shipping. this included all the tools and packaging and 4 coilovers and other things im told.

i can weigh them when i get them here if that will help further but the issue is is we are using 2 scales. not very accurate if you ask me.

My megans weighed 42lbs exactly. Can you please weigh the apex'i.

It would be awesome if you could snap a pic of the front and rear coil on a scale separately.
