I would like to do carbon for some blingess and its lighter, right ? 
Dudi - I will take the shields off and weigh it man. My car has no carpet and sound deadening as you know and the driveshate etc is off.
My downpipe is wrapped to protect TC from heat and may help with the cabin as well. I am thinking my greddy Ti disspiates heat quickly. Of course, mine will not be much of a daily driver....

very nice - is this from a thread or do we have any user info? That is exactly what I want to do and add some switches for fan control, tranny cooler (yes, for manual tranny), a gauge or 2 and put my zietronix in there as well...

+1 on more info. Looks nice and I want to put my ZT2 display and a few switches on the panel

I love this never ending quest for weight reduction.....its even more fun than HP hunting, lol.

yes they are all made in the same factory which is why I didn't believe that the apex'i were any lighter, so I bought the megans since they are way cheaper. With that being said david buschur swears they are lighter and I believe what he has tested.

the heat shield under the car over the drive shaft is around 3 feet long and weighs no more then 4 lbs. it is supper easy to remove as well. i did it in around 20min.

Has anyone removed any of the shields on the bottom of the car around the exhaust and drive shaft area. They run nearly the entire length of the car and I would guess that total they weigh around 5 lbs.
I wonder if you really need them. I know that the floor already gets hot if you are WOT for a while, I wonder if you would melt the carpet or something worse if you got rid of them. What do you think is the worst that could happen?
