Stage 1 is done on my dash bar. She is down to 15.8 lbs now with just removing the big un-needed brackets. I haven't touched the side brackets yet. With what I am planning I should be able to get another 3-4 lbs out of it. 12 lbs is the new goal LOL.

Nice man! I can't wait to get started on mine tomorrow.

I'll be happy to get 6-7 lbs out of it.

Is #8 the evaporator?
see the #4. you need to remove that plastic part.

then #8 comes out. also remove the white padding crap inside that same cubby.

also the little wiring harness. there is 2 sensors connected to that core #8. i just de pinned them wires and i am left with this.

i think what i de pinned was all AC crap anyways. my guess is this part is to power the blower motor and such. so id reuse it.

Well I'm a fail haha. I can't do what I wanted really. I got my dash bar down to 14 lbs right now. I am probably gonna call it quits and will be happy with 6.8 lbs removed. There are two brackets I might be able to remove once it is bolted into the car. I didn't want to remove anything that would make the dash wobble around. So we'll see I guess. I'll try and post some pics up later.

You first haha. I did a quick spray paint job on mine (black paint). Hopefully painting it wasn't a bad idea and as long as I sand the paint off where I place grounds it should be ok. Now I'm all worried haha.

I can't see where you came up with 8 lbs Dan?? I even put a few small "speed" holes in mine to cut some weight.

I'll get some pics up soon. I got crazy with it. My bar weighs 12.8 lbs.

Painting the bar is a good idea just make sure you have bare metal where your grounds are.
