I think the main difference is that one 9800 has a one year warranty and the 980 has a two year.

I'll stick with my Eclipse unit . That's a nice looking unit, I was between it and my CD-5000...I went with the better EQ in the end.

I went with this HU. It was this or Alpine and the this had the Bluetooth. The BT actually works pretty well and I think it is a very nice safety feature. Trying to operate a cell phone while driving a stick is stupid.

The sound is very nice. The only issue is the clash of the colors. Oh well, it doesn't look all that bad and I am not too uptight.
