Pioneer/Premier DEH-P980BT

I just bought a Pioneer DEH-P980BT and the Ipod module CD-IB100II last week. It came in the mail today and I installed it today after work What an EASY install on the evo!

The only problem I had was the plastic beauty ring wont fit around the head unit with the dash plastic. What have other people done about this?

iPod in the glove box

I totally love the head unit, the ipod functions worked without any hassle. Its nice being able to browse artist, album, genre, playlist, shuffle, etc. I had an iCruze in my truck before, and that was a hassle having to load everything into a playlist.

Did you hook up the mic for the bluetooth feature? Curious as to where you put it at.

When I installed my Premier HU I used some washers where the screws go, so the HU is not all the way in and I could install the HU bezel.

That depends on the washer depth, use as many as you need.

On the wiring harness, did you have another shorty patch harness hooked to that? is that for the grounding for the antenna? I can probably remove that one then since i grounded the new head unit to steel

nice headunit. i really dont care for the pioneer ipod module, due to the lack of control i think. i also had the same problem with the ring around the headunit wouldnt fit.

ive never been much of a pioneer fan, i like clarions but their ipod support was kinda lacking. I had an iCruze in my truck, and the pioneer ipod control is leaps and bounds better than the icruze. The icruze would only let me select playlists like cd1, cd2, cd3 etc since it used the cd changer interface. The pioneer lets me do artist, album, genre, playlist, and shuffle albums or shuffle tracks.

yeah it pretty much has the same menus the ipod has. the performance is good, i would say 8/10. the only thing that bugs me a little bit is when your browsing all artists, it takes a second to load all the names
