Pioneer shallow subwoofer

has anyone used these or know how good they sound... might be a nice way to get that base without adding the weight of an entire sub-box

They actually sound really good. We have done a couple of vehicles with them at the car audio shop i work at. They truthfully only sound their best when they are in an enclosure in the spare tire well, or in a box that is bolted to the floor of the vehicle. I guess this is so that the bass can resonate better through the vehicle.

I've got one with the matching Pioneer box. I'm powering it using an eD 300watt rms amp and it sounds really good. It took awhile to adjust to it from the 13W7 I had but it beats the hell out of the basslink.

anybody know if the box for these (pioneer part# UD-SW8U ) will fit under our passenger seat? (it measures 9 1/4 x 11 3/4 x 4 1/2 with an extra 1 1/4in of "grille")

Roberto has 2 components https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...1&postcount=27 that, with their mounts, stack up to just over 4 1/4"... I'm guessing it would be a really tight squeeze.

this box that you are looking at is for an 8" not the 10" I originally posted... this is probably the box:
Pioneer UD-SW10U Under-Seat TS-SW2541D

or

Pioneer UD-SW10B TS-SW2541D

I hope that they would fit!

I would like to put them in my back deck. Do you think this is possible? I know I would have to make the current holes bigger but wanted to know if it is possible and if it would be a good idea to do. Basically I don't want to damage the back deck or cause problems with the trunk system or strenght of the back deck.

Thanks for your opinion.

For all you guys wanting an under the seat box. I will custome make an enclosure under the seat for it and ship it to you. Full fiberglass, wrapped in black carpet. Ready to install the shallow subwoofer only! I will try one on my own car and post pics, my car is underconstruction and making them will be pretty easy. I will also come up with a very good price too! I have pics of other Evo installs and other cars, if anyone is interested.

originally I was interested in a custom trunk sub enclosure but now more and more I'm liking the idea of an under seat sub to save trunk space. I would like to see pics of such box and feed back on sound quality. I don't need to be heard from three blocks away but I want it to have some decent knock
