Unhappy trouble with remote start :(

Well trying to test the remote start, i got all the wires tagged, when i hit the remote start and the key is in the ignition, it will turn on, and cut off after about 10 sec.....

if i turn the key to the on posistion (without startin with key) and i hit the remote start button, it will then stay on, and have no problems.

can't figure it out...ignition/starter all everythig is already tagged

for my Z w/immobilizer they had to hide a key inside the car with a special slot for it, so that the car would notice the key... but i read in a thread that a key wasnt needed anymore.. just what i know

All Evos come with the factory immobilizer.

He has the key in the ignition to get around it for testing purposes but his problem sounds most strange. You cant ask for help with a product without listing what the product is.

I was actually reffering to a factory immobilizer piece sold by DEI or another company that will disable the car. I understand there is a factory immobilizer in evos, I didnt make myself clear in the first statement . I had to use a DEI piece to hook up my remote start (by using a key in the box). I cut the key part off and left the chip thats in the handle of the key.

Just thought of something. Maybe with the key in the ignition but in the off position, the key sense wire is being used to tell the immobilizer and ecu to shut off the fuel pump. Normally, I use the DEI 555U/556U/556UW from the beginning and do not worry about testing the key in the ignition first. Wire the bypass unit in and it should work fine.

I didn't notice anywhere where you said you used a bypass module, but did you? If so, which one? Depending on which one you used, it could be a number of different things preventing you from starting when using the remote alone. Let us know which bypass module you use...Should be an easy fix

test and make sure you're powering the accessory and ignition correctly and not backwards, that would cause that for sure, because accessory drops during crank (from the car and the remote start) so by turning the key you're overriding the remote start and making ignition live through the whole remote start sequence.
