Designer Fabric

I have a customer of mine who wants me to make him a sub box and a pair of speaker boxes...no problem....but he wants them to be wrapped in a designer fabric like Fendi, Coach, Gucci, Louis Vutton, etc. because his girl usually drives the car. Anyone know where I might be able to score some designer fabric? Local stores are a no go.

One of my wife's good friends works for Coach in NYC. They don't sell sheets of fabric or leather in bulk. If they did it would be too easy for someone to make a fake purse with legit fabric/leather. I would assume the other brands are just as protective of their materials. I don't think you're going to find any. Sorry...

You wont find real material but you can find fake all over the internet which is the same thing that is used in celebrity cars when they want it done.

Yea definitely dont think you will find the real stuff, nor would you want to pay the price for it. Just pick up some knockoff stuff. What kind of boxes are you making?

Oh yeah I didn't think I would get the real deal, waaay too expensive lol. I'm just making him a single 10" L port box, and a pair of 6x9 speaker boxes.

If you want something that matches with the car and is trick, go with genuine alcantara. You can get it from gulf coast fabrics.

alcantara is the fabric that is used by lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Bugati, and Recaro. It's the same fabric that is used in the center section of the factory Recaro seats.

I am having my dash recovered with alcantara next week.

Exactly what I was thinking when he said he wanted 6x9 boxes . I haven't made let alone seen them except in some Jeep Wranglers where they bolt them down for when the go off roading. We have done a decent amount of those, but nothing in a classic car. Old Skool lol.

you wont be able to buy sheets of design material. they just dont sell it. the people i have known to do designer interiors all bough large handbags or stuff like that in order to get the print.
alcantara is just a brand name for a synthetic suede iirc. great stuff though.
if this is going in an evo, please do me a favor and slap the guy
