I used my stock brackets and I believe I used 4 washers to pull the radio more out and the trim piece should fit like a glove.

1- interface design is terrible (THREE places to adjust audio?!!) one menu you can't even exit, you have to wait for it to timeout or click on snother menu.
2- bluetooth ECHOs
2- bluetooth makes noice appear in the Ipod line which is NOT GROUND LOOP. people cannot get rid of the noise.

sounds like the common complaints we got at cartoys

sorry to hear that, i agree, alpines are very disappointing, with all the hype they get. radio reception sucks, controls suck, display sucks i'm amazed that regrounding your radio helped, i have my radio grounded to the radio brackets and it grounds when you screw it in, it works just fine, radio is awesome, although i do have a pioneer

to the OP about the static, did you happen to hook up the power for the ampilied antenna? I had really bad reception for awhile then I read on here awhile back about how our cars have a powered amplified antenna. So to make a long story short I went and looked and I didn't have the powered antenna wire hooked up on my deck. After I hooked it up, My reception improved alot.
just a thought,
ed

Sorry to hear about your problems with your Alpine 9887. I installed a Alpine 9885 several weeks ago and have no issues with my radio reception.

I disagree....I've also owned Clarion and numerous Premier decks....both offer decent quality, but everything other than my latest Premier had some sort of malfunction....everything from CD player quitting to motorized face giving up the ghost (as well as a few Premiers that just gave up altogether). I love the ease of use and the display on the Premier's, I love the build quality of the Clarions, but I will take an Alpine any day of the week (don't know why I ever strayed). The 9887 is a fantastic deck....I don't see that audio adjustment in 3 places is an issue. If you adjust right, it should be set it and forget it. Not to mention if you run a seperate EQ and run imprint, good luck finding a deck that will offer the same audio quality in the same price range and doesn't take days to get tuned to the same level. If you want the same audio quality out of a Premier, you're looking at the 880 (I think that's the one) and that was a little more than twice what I paid for a 9887.
