just installed cda-9887...
hello,
i just installed my first deck ever and noticed that when listening to fm radio, there's noticable static. my stock deck never had any static, unless due to bad weather. i know i didn't buy this unit just to listen to the radio but it's irritating. any suggestions? thanks.

Just so you know too there are tuner (am/fm) sensitivity adjustments in the menu of Alpine radios, especially their high end pieces like the 9887, give that a shot too. If that doesn't do it and it's tight behind the deck make sure the ground on your battery is nice and tight, reception quality is directly related to ground path in a vehicle, and if it is poor it's possible Mitsu beefed up the internals of the OEM deck to counter act that

I just wanted to let you know guys, I just switched my ground to the bolt behind the glove box, thats where all my ground is mostly located and all the static was gone away. To give you a better picture where the bolt is, when you take off the glove box, its on the left side.
Also, Does anybody have any good suggestions on good settings on the Alpine units, like bass and others?

How were you able to get the 9887 to line up? I was trying to install mine and the brackets from the stock radio sit too far up, which in turn makes the 9887 stick too far out. The other issue is that I can't even get the radio trim back over it because of that. Any help would be great. Thanks.
