How to ensure an Amp will receive 14.4 volts?

Don't know if its been mentioned, but you can do the "Big 3" upgrade. Run a 4awg or 1/0awg wire straight from the alt to your battery. Upgrade the factory grounds with either the 4 or 1/0awg as well. Battery-to-chassis-to-block. I did this in my Integra when I was having problems with dimming and it fixed it.

Dominick Iraggi is a great place to start. There was a group buy for a 180amp alternator just a couple months ago.
Here's his eBay store. Make sure to contact him. Should cost somewhere between $300-$400.

First I had AMS install it for me. When I got the car back, I noticed a rattling in the engine bay. So I took it back to AMS and they noticed that the tension pulley was bottomed out. The smaller pulley made the original belt longer and the tension pulley wasn't applying any tension on the belt, making the tension pulley shake causing the rattling sound. They just ordered a smaller belt for me and the problem went away.

capacitors are such a waste unless you see dimming in your lights, even then, they don't help all that much.
i rarely see cars running above 14.2 even with the car running, although the higher your rev the voltage increases but not by much. Alpine rates their amps at 14.4v to bump up their numbers in order to sell more.
don't worry about getting 14.4v. As long as you have a sub that matches up and a decent box it will all sound good and that's all that really matters right?![Beer](https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/images/smilies/beer05.gif)
