coolant fan fuse keeps popping
Hey guy's, I have two 30 amp fan fuses in the engine compartment that keeps popping once a week im changing them. My friend said it could be the black box behind the fan but not sure, i don't know if it's common or not any thoughts would be appreciated

Is your fan locked up or can you spin it by hand with the engine off. If it is locked up that is your problem. If not you will want to check the wiring to the fan and fan control module to ensure you have no shorts.

Agreed. Obviously, as stated above, either your fan is pulling too many amps or you have a intermittent short to ground. Check to see if any wires have chafed or anything like that.

I'm having the same issue in my Evo. The #11 fuse keeps popping. Did anyone ever determine if it was because of the fan control module? Or if it was because of a short?
The guy that had the car before me, had some idiot put an alarm in it. And I say idiot because it was done in a really bad way. So many wires were spliced that shouldn't have been.
I'm going to dig deeper into the car today to rip out any unnecessary wires to see if that helps things out. If it doesn't I'm going to disconnect all the after-market gauges to see if that helps. If it doesn't I'll have to believe it's the FCM (fan control module) until then.
Any insights will be greatly appreciated during this adventure.
