I absolutely love the screen of the ida series decks....I just hate the huge center knob...now if they could provide options and knob/button layout of a CDA-9887 with the screen of an ida, I'd drop my 9887 in a second!

"If you're listening to waves from two sources at the same time:
a high pressure from one will cancel out a low pressure from the other
two high pressures will reinforce each other
two low pressures will reinforce each other "
If every thing is the same (subs, box, amp, singal and in phase) two subs will not cancle each other out and = more out put .

A perfect 40 on an RTA was more to measure the frequency response of the entire system, which meant that the acoustics of the car,etc didn't color the music any, and you just heard pure recording. I agree flat rta curves sound like **** and what sounds good is totally up to the listener.

In an ideal world this is true. While 2 subs will no doubt increase output, when it comes to pure sq (stuff that the average person can't tell a difference) 1 sub is ideal. The most ideal system would be 2 single speakers that could cover the entire audio frequency range equidistant from the listener. Obviously effectively impossible.

one sub may sound perfect and two subs may not sound as sweet (due to a number of things , my fav is when someone build a box so big it blocks off the trunk of a car with the subs facing to the rear vs befor having a box 1/2 the size and 1/2 the speaker , x2 the opening and it sounded great ....)
Instead of of saying two subs cancel each other , I would say they reinforce each other to exaggerate HZ peak and could sound more un-natral , boomy and overpowering .
