CompuStar "Turbo Timer" on Pro alarm

So I just got my CompuStar installed yesterday. I love everything about it. I got the Pro brain upgrade and it's pretty cool. My only thing that is bothering me is the turbo timer. They was I figured it would work is you park your car, take your key out while the car stays running, get out, shut the door, walk away and alarm.

Well mine doesn't do that. Mine you park your car, take the key and as soon as you shut the door it turns the turbo timer off. WTF? I even tried last night to see if the turbo timer would shut off after it's one minute of running, it didn't. It kept running. So I'm not sure if there is a short or something with the shock sensor or if that is just what it is going to do.

Anyone who knows these systems have any advice? I'm moving TODAY from WA to MA (not going the whole way today obviously) so getting back into the shop that installed it won't happen and I can't call the installer until Monday. Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Ajay

you need to activate turbo in the remote. it will activate your turbo timer. this time take the key off with the engine running, close the driver side door then press to arm your car(in turbo mode)

you need to press III + IV quickly and the turbo icon appears in your remote.

does the turbo icon look like a black rectangle with a upward pointing triangle?

passive arming is when you go out it will lock or arm itself. if you leave the key, tough luck. the turbo icon is the "fan" icon in your remote. if you said that the remote stopped working after you pressed III+IV, then if you press it again it will work again.

not sure if you already did this or had it done, but you need to program your remote so the turbo timer works. It's all in the install manual

You have to take it to a authorized compustar dealer. if you are familiar with directed electronics products they have a "bitwriter". this device plugs into the alarm brain and allows the installer to change car settings. Compustar also has this unit it is called the "op500". the best bet is to call compustar and find your nearest dealer OR call tech support! hope this helps buddy! I install these. And i had a few problems with the remote programming.

You can get an OP500 on ebay for about $100. I've been thinking about getting one, using it, then reselling it.

I actually got it into turbo mode by using the non 2way remote. I did the 2 button combo on the remote and it put the car and the 2 way into turbo timer mode, now it works like a charm. weird that the 2way wouldn't work though.
