Installing sub box

I'm putting my amp on the back of my sub box...just wondering( i dunno why ) is it better to just run the speaker wire straight from the amp to the speakers without using the speaker connectors and such like the ones on the side of the box or connectors to the amp (crimping connectors on the end of the wires)...basically bare wire connections from amp to subs....or is it better to use connectors on the ends of the wires and also use the box push tabs...or is there really no difference at all?...i dunno what got me thinking about this...lol

The truth of the matter is no connector is the best connector for the best sound quality but in car audio situations you would most likely want something you could disconnect rather easily. Depends on your setup and future system plans. Hope this help. For what its worth the no connector thing comes from someone who builds very expensive ($5-40k) home audio speakers.

I would consider it the sum of the connectors and their material quality as well. The fewer the better and if you must have them make them the best your wallet will allow. Cheap low quality= local electronics store. Best expensive high quality= Cardas binding posts. A web search for them will explain a lot. I have an 1000w system and I chose higher quality interconnects, cables and binding posts. I felt it was worth it for sound quality but I have heard many systems using run of the mill stuff that sounds o.k. to me. Loud for sure. This is from years of car audio competition scene experience. Just look to your wallet and it will tell you what to buy

Most quick disconnect connectors are pretty good and wont produce a ton of signal loss... esp on a sub channel. I use one on my sub box, makes it easier to remove for whatever reason.
